Blind Taste of the Rockies & Auction
June 4, 2009 (Thu)
Haggan Aviation
Centennial Airport, CO
Join in for a live wine and beer tasting to benefit the Foundation Fighting Blindness from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Haggan Aviation at the Centennial Airport south of Denver. There will be appetizers and a silent and live auction. Web site.

Chili Pepper and Brew Fest
June 5-6, 2009 (Fri-Sat)
Snowmass Village, CO
The International Chili Society holds it's two chili competitions and tastings in Snowmass while microbrewers face-off in a prestigious summer ale competition with two brew sampling sessions for festival goers featuring 30 plus breweries. Live music will rock with hot music all weekend. Web site.

Great Divide 15th Anniversary Party

If there is only one Great Divide event you attend this year, this should be the one! They'll open up the brewhouse, taproom and the parking lot and throw a big bash to celebrate our 15 wonderful years of beer-making. Here's the scoop: $20 cover...a portion of this goes to charity. Liquid Poetry Slam Homebrew Competition

The 2nd Annual Liquid Poetry Slam Homebrew Competition is being hosted by the Liquid Poets, Northern Colorado's finest homebrew club. The competition will be held on June 7th at New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins Colorado. Entries will be accepted by May 8th through May 30th. Please see link for shipping and multiple drop off locations through out the front range. Online registration deadline will be accepted until May 27th but drop off and shipping accepted until May 30th. This will be a BJCP sanctioned competition. Beers of similar style may be grouped together to allow for manageable judging sessions and reasonable competition. Prizes and awards will be held following the judging at Choice City Butcher and Deli in Fort Collins. Note there will be FIVE Pro-Am award winners from the Liquid Poetry Slam. Yes, that is correct 5 Pro-am winners!

Boulder Beer Flashback Tasting

Maharaja Imperial IPA Batch #10 Release Party

Event runs from 5pm until 8pm. As solar forces build towards the Summer solstice, join in at the Avery Tap Room to celebrate the release of Batch #10 with some tunes, food, and tasty brews! A $15 cover gets you three drink tickets good for any specialty beer on tap, light food and the chance to cut a rug to the tunes of DJ Search + Rescue. Avery promises a good time and better beer. As our way of saying thanks to all of their loyal fans-who inevitably ask for kegs of Maharaja (which are not typically sold to the public) Avery will be raffling off the opportunity to purchase a 1/6BBL keg of The Maharaja at the release party. All members of The Society for the Pursuit of Hoppiness who attend the release party will automatically get a raffle ticket. Those who are not members can join The Society that night ($15 lifetime membership) and be entered into the raffle.

Rocky Mountain Brew Fest

Join in on one of the best kept brew fest secrets nestled right next to the main entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. Last year over 500 people showed up to taste nearly 50 beers from 15 local breweries. Live bands rotate every hour. Grab a brat and sample some of the best local brews around. Event runs from 12pm until 5pm. Tickets at the door: $30 cash or $35 credit card which includes souvenir glass, food ticket and beer samples. Bands include: Foul Mouth and Product of Time. Learn to Brew with the CFU

Award-winning Wynkoop brew master Andy Brown will provide an overview of the brewing process from grain to glass. Learn about different styles, participate in a tasting session and enjoy some fresh Wynkoop beer and food pairings. Class runs from 3-5pm. This is a sanctioned Colorado Free University course, register online at Cost: $56 Non-Member $47 Member $12 materials fee payable in class. Students must be 21 years old or older to register.

Food & Wine Classic

The festival may be wine focused but Great Divide Brewing insures us that there will also be some great food and BEER pairings to be had at this 3-day summer festival. Beer lovers can run elbows with wine enthusiasts and attend seminars,exhibits and tastings amongst the beautiful Aspen scenery. Web site.

3rd Annual Summer Blast

Colorado's favorite restaurants, a beer garden and wine pavilion, local live music, Kid's Korner, an arts and crafts sidewalk sale, and a spectacular fireworks show. Festival goers will have the chance to taste from several different food vendors and get refreshed in the beer garden or wine pavilion. A Kid's Korner will offer a variety of inflatable amusement rides for kids of all ages to enjoy. A mega slide, obstacle course, and face painters will provide families hours of opportunity to have fun together. Admission to the Kid's Korner is free. A spectacular fireworks show will cap off the day at approximately 9:30 p.m. Festival goers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for firework watching comfort. Web site.

2nd Annual Local Beer & Wine Festival

Colorado Brewers' Festival
June 27-28, 2009 (Sat-Sun)

Great beer, food, music and fun. This year marks the 20th annual Colorado Brewers' Festival in downtown Fort Collins. Over 50 Colorado beers and 400 kegs will be enjoyed along with great live music Saturday and Sunday in Historic Downtown. Festival hours run 11:00am to 6:00pm each day. All beer drinkers must be 21 years of age and purchase an entry and tokens at the entry station located on Mountain Ave, the day of the festival. Admission is $10 for a 2-day Saturday/Sunday Pass & $6 Sunday Only Pass. All beer tokens are $2; you need beer tokens to get beer samples. Web site.

Rails and Ales Brewfest

Alamosa, CO
Join in for the return of last year's popular event. Ride the rails to a remote mountain location to sample beers from over 20 regional breweries. Enjoy live music and food vendors in our remote mountain location for a unique summer event. Cost is $59 for the roundtrip coach train ride, access to the event and a commemorative sample glass. Food will be available for a separate price. This event sold out last year--make your reservation early. Tickets are non-refundable. The 2nd annual beer train leaves Alamosa, CO at 9:00am and will take everyone to a beautiful mountain meadow spot along the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad route. The beer festival will run from Noon to 3:00pm. The train will then take you back to Alamosa arriving about 5:30pm. Web site.
