Hello Great Divide Drinkers, Happy Holidays! Here’s what’s going on this month.

Tap Room
We will be serving traditional cask-conditioned ales on the 11th and 18th. Also on the 18th will be the second meeting of the Hop Disciples. This month’s meeting will focus on how to pair your favorite beers with food. Speaking of food and beer, our monthly beer and cheese pairing is on the 30th and will feature five artisan cheeses and five beers for $10, RSVP at

End of the Year Beer Sale in the Tap Room! $1 off 6 packs and 4 packs from Dec. 15th-31st!

The Tap Room will be closed on Christmas Day.

Taylor and Allen finally shave…Taylor’s still looking good.

Hades Belgian-Style Strong Golden Ale won a silver medal at 2008 European Beer Star Competition. All hail the lord of the underworld.

Local Events

Great Divide Night is every Thursday at City, O’ City, featuring discount GD pints, special food and beer pairings and unique beer cocktails.

The Atomic Cowboy is now serving Hades on tap. Wednesdays are Trivia Night at The Cowboy, and Great Divide beers are on special all night.

Beer News

Check out to learn more about Prohibition, and more importantly, the end of that unfortunate era of American history. The site focuses on President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s early attempts to prompt Congress to modify the Volstead Act, which would have allowed beers with a specific alcohol percentage to be produced and sold, starting on April 7th, 1933. Also noted are some of the social contributions that the beer industry has made since the end of Prohibition.
