Oskar Blues taps Smoke on the Water

Oskar BluesFor those fortunate enough to live close by to Lyons, Colorado you've no doubt stopped by the Oskar Blues Cajun Grill and Brewery a few times and enjoyed the food, music and of course their beer. Oskar Blues puts many of their fine beers in cans and shares them with nearly half of the states in the USA. Every so often they come up with something special and new to talk about and this month is no exception.

Oskar Blues sent out their holiday newsletter this week and in it was word of a new beer they're pouring at their restaurant in Lyons. As of November 26th, patrons can now order a new collaboration beer that their many fine brewing staffers put together just for the holidays: Smoke on the Water. Named after not only the infamous rock song by Deep Purple, but also as a reminder that this fine brew has a gentle smoked finish.

This holiday winter warmer beer will grab you as it is a respectable 7% ABV smoked beer that's blessed with an abundance of caramel malts and hops. No telling if this beer will become popular enough to warrant it's own can someday. But for now, it's available in pints and growlers at the Oskar Blues restaurant in Lyons, CO.

Ten FIDY Returns

For those in the distribution chain for Oskar Blues canned beers, you can now look forward to the return of their Ten FIDY imperial stout for another season. This beer is already available in Colorado, Southern California, Texas and the Pittsburgh area and soon also to follow in more states. Ten FIDY comes as dark as they come. Rich dark roasty malts and a big brown head. Sold only in 4-packs and they tend to sell out fast.

Look for the Singing 12-Packs

Oskar Blues is also bringing back it's Singing 12-pack program. Specially marked 12-packs of Dale's Pale Ale and Old Chub Scottish Ale will include a free CD of great small-batch music made by the nation's best indie artists. This CD is the 7th in a series and features 12 songs by up and coming artists. Visit Oskar Blues' web site for more details on this offer.
