Been traveling all month

Hey readers it's Chipper Dave checking in. Where have I been all this month? It's a long story but July has been extremely busy for me and I've been AFK for a long time.

During the week of July 1st I was in Gunnison, Colorado visiting my daughter. Heard about the new Crested Butte Brewery opening on the west side of town on Highway 50. It will be located in the old Ford car dealership building. Last I heard it may open in the Fall. Wonder what the Gunnison Brewery will think of that?

After the long Gunnison road trip and only having a couple of beers while there, I then headed to Cincinnati, Ohio on a business trip for a week long series of meetings with a consultant.

During my stay in Cincinnati, I became a frequent visitor to the Rock Bottom Brewery on Fountain Square in downtown Cincy. I tried their seasonal dark beer (a porter), their Great American IPA and their Brown Bear Brown ale which has been one of my standard session brews when visiting. Later I had dinner at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse on the riverfront and had a full slab of their famous ribs. I washed those down with a couple of Samuel Adams Summer ales. Needless to say that dinner filled me up to the rim.

I've only been back home in Greeley for a couple of days and have had to catch up with a lot of stuff with my family and work. Sorry to say I've not been able to blog at all this month up until now. Don't worry though. I'll be back at it in about another 10 days. I will be camping all of next week and away from my computer for another stretch. Going to get busy blogging soon after I return from that trip.

It's been too long and I promise to be back to reporting all of the beer news from around northern Colorado soon. In the meantime, I've updated the 2009 Colorado Beer Festival listings with TONS of new events for August and September. Big events coming!! Thanks for stopping by and reading. Cheers!
