New Planet brews up gluten free beer

New Planet BeerHere's a name of a Colorado beer company that you might not have heard of, the New Planet Beer Company of Boulder, Colorado. New Planet has recently come out with it's own brand of gluten-free beer and is now available in select locations around Boulder. New Planet's slogan is: "Healthy Beer for a Healthy Planet".

New Planet has contracted out with Boulder's Twisted Pine Brewing Company to produce this beer for them. Their first such contract beer is called Tread Lightly Ale. According to their own description: "Tread Lightly Ale is a great balanced beer made from fermented sorghum and corn, hops and yeast. It is a bright beer with light taste and body and without the after taste of other sorghum-based beers. Inspired by the old-style America Pilsner, our Tread Lightly Ale appeals to a new style beer drinker looking for a healthy alternative, low caloric content and great taste."

New Planet Tread Lightly AleNew Planet Beer Company felt that there was a niche to be filled in the gluten free beer market. Most every beer out on the market has gluten in it and not many gluten free beers were available to the public. Tread Lightly Ale should be able to give those with gluten allergies a chance to enjoy a good tasting beer without the worry.

A percentage of their beer sales goes to help ecosystem conservation. Visit their website (www.newplanetbeer.net) for more information. Twisted Pine Brewing Company will also feature Tread Lightly Ale on tap at it's tasting room in Boulder. New Planet Beer Company will also be pouring their beer at the Great American Beer Festival this year.
