CAUTION: Brewing Company (Denver) recently won two 1st place awards and best overall for their Lao Wang Lager and Honey Matrimony Brown at the Jefferson County Beerfest.

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) and Wynkoop Brewing (Denver) are participating in the (now full) Yelp's Midsummer Night's Dream party on Saturday, August 20 from 8pm-10pm at Eden (3090 Downing St) in Denver. They'll have a forest of food, libations, and fun.

BierWerks Brewery (Woodland Park) took second place at the Craft Lager fest this weekend with their Helles - Bavarian Style Blonde Lager. Congrats!

Renegade Brewing (Denver) is featuring a homebrewer's beer made by Jacob Dye now on tap - Double Bald Spot Double Wit.

Wit's End Brewing (Denver) - is close to getting everything ready for their last inspections next week. Electrical inspections were completed last week. Last series of plumbing changes coming. Opening day is close at hand.

Del Norte Brewing (Denver) tool 1st place in the Bock category with their Luminaria, and also took 2nd place in the Oktoberfest/Marzen category with their Manana at the Craft Lager Fest this weekend.

Freshcraft (Denver) is hosting their 1st anniversary Party & BBQ starting at 11am til close on Saturday, August 27th at 1530 Blake Street. Serving archived and special beers also beef, pork, sausage and rib BBQ. At 7pm they will tap a special Upslope Brewing collaboration beer - Upslope-Freshcraft Imperial Red Ale. Raffle for GABF tickets.

Denver Beer Company's grand opening was so successful they had to close today on Monday to recover and brew more beer. They thank everyone who came this weekend and helped them launch in Denver.

Cheeky Monk (Westminster) is sponsoring Keep the Glass Night on August 17th at 7pm. Buy a Cuvee des Trolls and keep your glass. Westminster location only.

Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (Fort Collins) announced that their bottles of Petite Sour and WWBR are now in stock in various locations in Denver (like Mr. B's Wine & Spirits).

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) recently harvested fresh local Colorado hops this weekend and is making their Fresh Hop #9 batch this week.

Choice City Butcher & Deli (Fort Collins) is undergoing another round of rennovation and getting ready to be better able to serve you some of the best craft beer and food in town. They are closed all day today (Monday) for this effort.

New Belgium Brewing (Fort Collins) is planning to open another Denver airport spot. Look for the New Belgium Spoke opening this fall in Concourse A. Newsstand, bar, cafe menu and coffee built-in.

Old Chicago Restaurants (Statewide) is hosting it's Canned Beer Mini-Tour this week running through August 21st. Highlighting all that is quaffable encased in aluminum. If you drink all 8 featured beers during the week you win a t-shirt, plus you can crush a few cans across your forehead if you like.

Kannah Creek Brewing (Grand Junction) is now offering Peachy Wheat - their Highside Hefeweizen infused with Palisade Peaches, brewed in honor of the Palisade Peach Festival.

Factoid: In the first half of 2011 there were 38 new breweries being planned in Colorado according to the Brewers Association, several of which have now recently opened.

Vine Street Pub (Denver) will sponsor a Belgian Beer 101 class on September 15th hosted by the Mountain Sun brewers. Class covers the history of Belgian beer as well as common food pairings. Tickets are $50 and sold at Mountain Sun, Southern Sun and Vine Street Pub.
