Strange Brewing (Denver) has Strange Pale and Tainted Black Pale back on tap today. Ask if they have any of their Paint It Black Honey Coffee Stout on Nitro left over from last night while you're at it.

Oskar Blues (Longmont) is planning to brew up some fresh brews soon with their own homegrown hops from their Hops & Heifers farm. Look for it soon along with their own beef products.

Boulder Beer Company (Boulder) is chanting FREE BEER! - that is if you attend a special event at Lakeside Amusement Park. Details on Facebook.

Crystal Springs Brewing (Boulder) is proud to announce that their Summertime Ale, Doc's Porter and Tic Wit Belgian Wit are now being offered in limited quantities at the new Cured shop in Boulder (1825 Pearl Street). Cured offers cheeses, cured meats, table wines and other unique grocery items. Just opened this week. Crystal Springs Brewing has just installed a larger brewing system and is working hard to keep up with the demand for their craft beers.

Freshcraft (Denver) is now pouring a sour from the Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project - Wild Wild Brett Rouge on tap. Who needs PBR when you can have WWBR!

Rocky Mountain Goat Roast (2nd annual) will be held on August 27, 2011 at Crabtree Brewing in Greeley, Colorado. This is an outdoor day festival with food, craft beer, 11 death metal, black metal, and grindcore metal bands. Goats will be roasting all day and will be served at dinner time. Cover into the event will be $25 all ages. $18.50 advance tickets are available. Get your metal on.

Odell Brewing (Fort Collins) is participating in a beer dinner at the Gardens on Spring Creek on Friday, August 26th at 5:30pm. Four courses, silent auction to help support the Gardens and pairings with Odell beers. Live music. Details on the August Beer Fest calendar.

The second annual
Beer Bloggers Conference is happening this weekend (Aug. 19-21) in Portland, OR. Over 83 bloggers from across the nation and some from international areas will join forces, tilt some beers and share information about the craft beer world we enjoy. Several from Colorado will be in attendance as well. Wishing I could have been there this year but will be there in spirit. (

Telluride Brewing Company (Telluride) is getting close to it's grand open day sometime in September. Targeting opening in time for the Telluride Brews & Blues festival on September 16-18th. Targeted ale for opening day is a Rye Pale Ale.

Pagosa Brewing Company (Pagosa Springs) is nearly done with their new batch of Coconut Porter - due to debut in about three weeks.

AC Golden Brewing (Golden) won two gold medals at last week's Craft Lager Fest. One for their Colorado Native (amber lager) and the other for their German Pilsner. Also, Colorado Native’s Friends of the Frontier and Volunteers for Outdoors Colorado (VOC) are partnering to help remove the invasive plant species that threaten Bear Creek Lake Park. The clean-up will take place Saturday, August 20, 8-11 a.m., at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood, CO. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and lunch. To register for the clean-up go to

Steamworks Brewing (Durango) announces the availability of their seasonal Ale Diablo - belgian-style ale. Available now in bottles through the end of October.

New Belgium (Fort Collins) announces the return of Bike In Cinema nights in the parking lot of the brewery starting Aug. 18th and every Thursday through Sept 22nd. Ride in on your bike, carry a chair or blanket. Starts at Dusk. This week: Blues Brothers. $2 admission.
