Black Porter for Black Friday - Chilly Water Release Party
November 25, 2011
(Fri)
Trinity Brewing Company - 1466 Garden of the Gods
Colorado Springs, CO
Time: High Noon
Not a common style of beer by any means, in fact this style of Porter is a bottom fermented lager rather than an ale. Traditionally brewed in Northern Europe, this lager had to be strong to keep all the hearty Northern souls warm. Again keep in mind this beer is brewed by TRiNiTY, and any beer they do seems to have an added twist. The twist in this seasonal is the choice to add a rare Mexican wood known as Chauchalalate. This wood imparts a certain dryness accompanied by chocolate and coffee flavors. They think it is the perfect match for this style, and they know you will agree! 8.5% ABV!
