Colorado Beer NewsToday is International Chocolate Day. Celebrate it with something rich and dark, perhaps a Chocolate Stout. It's Great American Beer Festival and the Denver Beer Fest month. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Tuesday, September 13th, 2011.

Crabtree Brewing (Greeley) is packaging their latest batch of Chunkin Pumpkin Ale today in 4-packs. Look for it soon in stores around Colorado and on tap at the brewery today! It's a blend of their famous Serenity Amber Ale with hundreds of pounds of locally grown pumpkins and hand ground spices. $3 pints all day at the brewery.

Vine Street Pub (Denver) is hosting a big Block Party on Saturday September 17th at the brewery outside on Vine Street between 17th and 18th. Live bands, big beer garden and several guest local beers and Belgians! Check the details here.

Empyrean Brewing (Nebraska) announced that four of their flagship beers will soon be distributed to Colorado. A fifth beer, a winter seasonal, will follow in November. Full details in their press release.

Tuesday's Trivia Question: This small mountain 7-barrel brewery got its start like many other breweries in a garage as a homebrewing operation. The love of making beer soon turned into a business. Their range of beers tend to have a bit of unpredictability. They make what they like to drink. Beers like: Two Hands Wheat, Demshitz Brown Ale, Mystery IPA, Dark Dog India Black Ale, and Second Street Stout. Name this small growing mountain brewery.

Highland Tap and Burger (Denver), one of Fermentedly Challenged's "Best Beer Bars in Denver" will host a special gathering of the Crafty Ladies Beer Club tonight. This meeting will highlight the beers of Left Hand Brewery. Around 80 craft beer drinking women will be in attendance. A secret special guest will also be in attendance.

Great Divide Brewing (Denver) is now bottling their winter seasonal Hibernation, an English-style Olde Ale. Look for this beer to be fresh back on the shelves in early October and lasting through January. Find this and other beer releases on the Colorado Beer Releases page.

Rockslide Brewery (Grand Junction) is hosting Geeks Who Drink trivia tonight. The fun runs from 7pm to 9pm. Win prizes and taste some fine craft beers.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) over sold their beer dinner at Taps for Thursday, but you can still get seats to their beer dinner at the Pourhouse Bar and Grill in Loveland for Tuesday September 27th. Get reservations at Pourhouse. (970) 669-1699

Eddyline Brewery (Buena Vista) had their first test of their new canning line at Wild Goose Engineering in Boulder to give it some final tweaks before shipping it to Buena Vista. Today their 1st 16oz can of Crank Yanker IPA rolled off the line and will be sampled tonight at the pub.

Ska Brewing (Durango) is hosting Super Ted's Super Trivia tonight at the brewery at 6pm. If you think you know a lot about meaningless crap - then you can win free prizes like beer!

Rock Bottom Brewery (Colorado Springs) is offering up a free Rocktoberfest beer from 6pm to 6:30pm tonight only. Stay for the sauerkraut eating contest at 7pm and bring your lederhosen and game face.

Colorado Mountain Brewery (Colorado Springs) is opening up a very special Brewer's Whimsy tonight. "Wee Bit Scottish" is a brew made by local homebrewer, Al Freeberg. Come try this traditional Scottish Ale.

Ska Brewing (Durango) is hosting a double release party this Friday at the brewery for their Euphoria and Hoperation Ivy (all-Colorado Fresh Hop IPA).

Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) is offering up half price growler refills all day today! Bring in your PCBC growler and enjoy a fresh batch for less.

Bristol Brewing (Colorado Springs) will host the release of their "Local 5 Ale" tonight at 6pm. Come for the beer and check out the complimentary snacks from Blue Sage Catering. Get a free adult fire truck ride. 100% of the profits from this beer goes to local firefighters.
