Summit Beer Garden (Denver) - This 3-day event coincides with the Great American Beer Festival and runs from 4pm to 1am September 29, 30 and October 1st at Summit Music Hall (19th St. & Blake St.) in Denver. Free music event and a chance to rub elbows with national craft brewers and sample over 100 beers from around the world. Details here. VIP Pass Giveaway: First 3 people to spot me (Chipper Dave) inside at the GABF each day and tell me "I'm Fermentedly Challenged" will win 2 FREE VIP passes to this event (includes beer and food). Breckenridge Brewery (Denver/Breckenridge) is celebrating Fall in full swing. They've brewed up a big batch of Autumn Ale this year and it's going fast. They're already making plans for winter as their Christmas Ale will be available to all in about three weeks. Santa's coming early this year!

Wednesday's Trivia Question: The Great American Beer Festival is celebrating it's 30th year this year. It's grown by leaps and bounds over the years. In 1982 they held the fest in Boulder at the Harvest House Hotel. By the 10th festival they had moved it to the Denver Merchandise Mart, and then later to Currigan Hall in Denver. In what year did they get so big that they had to move it to the Colorado Convention Center?

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Matador Mexican Grill in Fort Collins is hosting Grim Brothers Day on Monday, September 26th. There will be beer specials and menu items made with their beer. Grimm will be giving away several huge prizes including "Beer for the Rest of the Year" and Colorado Eagles tickets.

Silverton Brewery (Silverton) is hosting Silverton's only Oktoberfest this Saturday, September 24th at the brewery. Come on down for great beer and food. Live music at 8:30pm.

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - On Monday morning their assistant brewer, Andy Mitchell, was hit by a car while riding his bike at the crossroads of Mountain and Riverside. This Monday, September 26th, Funkwerks will be holding a fundraiser to help get Andy back on his feet. Show your support by coming in anytime between 12pm-8pm and ordering a beer - all proceeds from Funkwerks beer will go directly to Andy. Drinking beer for a good cause - it doesn’t get any better!

Lone Tree Brewing (Lone Tree) has completed the demolition phase of their brewery and is now entering into their main construction phase. They are still shooting for an October 2011 grand opening in Lone Tree, Colorado.

Coopersmith's Pub & Brewing (Fort Collins) announced that as of today, their Kriek is back on tap at both pub and pool side. Stop in soon to try this tasty brew.

Denver Oktoberfest (Denver) is looking for ten "Eaters" to compete against World Champion Joey Chestnut on Saturday afternoon (9/24) at 2:00 p.m. They're looking for people who represent local charities to compete. Second Place (assuming Joey takes first), gets a $1000 donation to their charity! All for eating and drinking beer on a beautiful Saturday afternoon! Wit's End Brewing (Denver) has announced their intentions to open its doors next week just in time for the GABF. Look for their opening on September 26th (Monday). If you are joining the Denver Brews Cruise - they will make Wit's End one of their stops. They plan to host hours between Noon to 5pm during GABF week. Come quick it's going to be packed. Palisade Brewing Company (Palisade) is hosting OPEN MIC tonight at the brewery! Tony Rosario is the host this evening! Amanda and Alex pouring the best beer in Palisade and cookin' up some great food. Come out early and get signed up. FREE Pint of beer for everyone who entertains the crowd! Black Shirt Brewing (Denver) is a brewery in the works and soon to open. BSB announces that next Thursday, Sept 29 @ 3:30pm - meet at the brewery @ 3719 Walnut St wearing as much BLACK as possible (black shirt being the minimum). Be prepared to drink some Red Ale, have some fun, and get a little crazy. We will return to the brewery around 6:30pm. We need 20 people, and we will be spreading the word about BSB around Denver!



BeerAdvocate (Magazine) is planning their BeerAdvocate ThrowDown in Boulder again this yeas as a part of their GABF pre-gaming activities. Fun starts at Twisted Pine at 11am on Wednesday, September 28th and goes to several Boulder spots after including, Avery Brewing, Asher Brewing, Upslope Brewing and ending up at The Kitchen with a Gold Medal Beer Dinner (tix required). TRVE Brewing (Denver) - brewery in planning, TRVE Brewing, invites all to come to Salvagetti Bicycles in Denver on Thursday, September 22nd from 5pm to 8pm. They will have several of their test beers for tasting including: Wanderlust, Carving Out the Eyes of Gourd, Black Cascade and more! Get a sneak peak of this soon to open brewery.

Oskar Blues (Longmont) is co-hosting a beer dinner at the Edge Restaurant & Bar at 1111 14th Street in Denver on Wednesday, September 28th at 7:30pm. Cost: $60 per person. There will be a 4-course pre-fixe dinner paired with select Oskar Blues brews. Reservations (303) 389-3050.
