FreshCraft 2011 GABF Events

FreshcraftOne of Denver's popular Beer Bar Cafes will be hosting several events during the 2011 Great American Beer Festival week. FreshCraft, one of Fermentedly Challenged's Best Beer Bars in Denver, is partnering up with several breweries to offer some enticing and rare tastes that you might not get to try in many other places.

FreshCraft's GABF Week Events Preview

We haven't ironed out every detail quite yet, but we know that many of you are making plans for what do do outside of the Convention Center during the Great American Beer Festival. Here is a glimpse of what we'll have going on.

Wednesday 9/28/11

• 7 pm Sierra Nevada Specialty Beer Tapping (Beer TBD)
• 8 pm Boulevard Brewing Smokestack Series - Saison Brett Tapping
• 9 pm Dogfish Head Sony Recording Series Specialty Tapping
We will be staying open until 2 am on Wednesday (Kitchen open until 1 am)

Thursday 9/29/11

11 am - 5:30 pm
Shmaltz & Friends: A Year of Collaborative Brewing
Reunion Ale '11® will be featured as well as other innovative collaboration brews from Shmaltz, Redstone Meadery, SBS Imports, Terrapin, Ithaca, and Captain Lawrence. Shmaltz proprietor Jeremy Cowan will also host a book reading and signing for his debut small business memoir, Craft Beer Bar Mitzvah. The event will raise funds for the IMBCR and is part of the festivities happening in Denver, CO during the Great American Beer Festival.
Beers to Include: Reunion 2011 (Shmaltz Brewing, SBS Imports & Terrapin Beer Co.), Geektoberfest (Shmaltz Brewing, Ithaca Beer Co & Captain Lawrence Brewing), Meadusa (Shmaltz Brewing & Redstone Meadery) plus more (stay tuned!)

Alaskan Brewing Co. / Stone Brewing Co. / Odell Brewing Co.
Night of Light & Dark w/ Blake St. Vault
Join us for the first annual Night of Light and Dark beers with our neighbors from the Blake Street Vault. Freshcraft will be featuring beers from the darker side of the color spectrum while The Vault will feature lighter colored beers (not "light" beer). There will be some great beers from each of the featured breweies at both locations - including speciatly draft and archived bottle releases. You will also have the option of paying $10 at the door to receive a discounted beer at each bar.
Beers at Freshcraft Include:
Draft: Alasan Brewing Perseverance Ale, Odell Bourbon Barrel Stout (Firkin), Stone 15th Anniversary Escondidian Imperial Black IPA
Bottles: '00 Alaskan Smoked Porter, '07 Stone Imperial Russian Stout, Odell TBD
Beers at The Vault - Alaskan Raspberry Wheat, Stone Ruination & Dry Hopped IPA. Also dry hopped Myrcenary from Odell.

We will be staying open until 2 am on Thursday (Kitchen open until 1 am)

Friday 9/30/11

Left Hand Armwrestling Tournament
Try your luck armwrestling using your left hand! Winners of each round will receive one free pint of Left Hand Brewing Co. beer and the overall winner will receive 2 tickets to the Friday night GABF session, starting at 5:30 pm. $4 Pints of all beer from Left Hand Brewing during this event with 50% of the proceeds going to benefit the Colorado Brewer's Guild.

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Specialty Beer Tapping with Green Flash Brewing
Stop by for some dinner and great beer from the folks at Green Flash Brewing!
Beers to include: 30th St Pale Ale & Sugar Smack Belgian Dubbel

Avery Brewing Co.
Heaven & Hell w/ The Blake St. Vault
Once again we'll be teaming up with our neighbor the Blake Street Vault as well as Avery Brewing Co. to present a night of sin and salvation. Avery's Demons will face off with The Holy Trinity. Keep an eye out for a rare caffeinated Demon and oak-aged man of the cloth!
Freshcraft Beers to include: Mephistopheles, Samael's & The Beast ( +? )
Blake St Vault beers to include: Hog Heaven, Salvation & The Reverend (+?)

Saturday 10/1/11

Burritos & Beer with Upslope Brewing Co.
Get your day started with Super Awesome Breakfast Burritos made with fresh local ingredients along with beers from Upslope Brewing. We will also be debuting our fresh michelada recipe using Upslope Craft Lager for those that like it spicy. Just a short walk to the convention center for those heading to GABF.

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Oskar Blues Specialty Beer Tapping
Stop in to say hi to "The Gubna" himself and try some great Oskar Blues Beer!
Beers to include: HGH Wet Hop Ale & Ten Fidy, G'Knight and Dale's Pale Ale. There will also be a special firkin of Dry Hopped Gubna. Chris "The Gubna" Katechis will be in attendance.

Widmer Brothers Specialty Tapping
Brewery reps will be on hand. Beers include: Barrel Aged Brrbon '11, Galaxy Hopped Barly Wine & Muscat Love.

Freshcraft will be open until 2 am (Kitchen open until 1 am)
