Colorado Beer NewsHappy November! Today is National Authors Day and it's a Binary Day. A good day to settle down with a good book and a warming ale. It's also No Shave November - a good excuse to "let it grow". Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Tuesday, November 1st, 2011.

Renegade Brewing (Denver) is participating in No Shave November and wants all guys who want to compete to show up clean-shaven at 2pm on Saturday November 5th to sign up for the beard growing competition. On Saturday, December 3rd they'll meet again and declare a winner. Winner gets a free month of growler fills!

Boulder Brew and Music Festival (Boulder) is happening this weekend! On Saturday November 5th from 1pm to 5pm at the Fox Theatre - 1129 13th Street in Boulder. There will be 16 breweries pouring beers and loads of live music. Cost is between $30 to $50. Check out www.BoulderBrewFest.com.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) will have extended hours today from 11am to 10pm. You can bring in food from anywhere. The D-Note and Yak and Yeti both deliver to Arvada Beer. They will be adding more restaurants that will deliver in the next few days. They also now have WiFi. Ask your server for the password.

Odell Brewing (Fort Collins) officially starts the Dark Days of November today. Expect a full 30 days of dark brew goodness in their tap room. Special firkins scheduled, dark beer tap takeovers, food trucks, live music and more. Read the event details and plan to stop in at Odell's this month.

Crabtree Brewing (Greeley) - 625 3rd Street. Do you have too many jars of Grandma's famous peaches? Can one too many of your favorite salsa? Wouldn't it be nice if you could go somewhere and swap your goods for someone else's? Crabtree Brewing has a solution! Swap your jars of canned goods at our Home Canning Exchange! Saturday November 12th, 2011 from 4-8 pm at the Brewery! Bring a jar or 2 of your canned goods to barter & trade with someone else. All trades are by mutual agreement - No money is to exchange hands. Only bartering or trading allowed. Samples of your canned wares are always a good idea! Colorado Craft Beer Radio (AM760 Denver - Saturdays 12pm-1pm) just love "stealing" content from these Colorado Beer News pages each week and converting it into audio for their weekly craft beer radio show and broadcasting the good news to the Colorado Beer Faithful every Saturday! Don't worry - I don't mind. Hosts John and Gary also interview 1 or 2 brewers each week and do remotes from all the best breweries and beer hot spots. Tommyknocker Brewery (Idaho Springs) announces their new Pints & Powder celebration. Nothing goes better with Colorado winters than skiing in the Rocky Mountains and drinking handcrafted beers. So this year they're chasing the snow and bringing the party to you. For the next few months Tommyknocker will be celebrating winter with their friends from Icelantic Skis and Loveland Ski Area. New Belgium (Fort Collins) is reportedly replacing their Spring seasonal Mighty Arrow with a new pale ale brewed with a new hop profile called Dig. This is part of their continuing seasonal rotation schedule. Earlier, New Belgium replaced Skinny Dip and 2 Below with new seasonals Somersault Ale and Snow Day. (Source: Westword)

Top 25 Beers of 2011 (Draft Magazine) - Draft Magazine recently announced it's top 25 beers of 2011. Among the list were three Colorado beers: Lips of Faith Le Terroir from New Belgium (Fort Collins), Friek - from Odell Brewing (Fort Collins), and W.W.B.R. - from Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (Fort Collins). Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) recently added three new 30 barrel bright tanks to their brewery. This will allow them to triple their brewing capacity. They also added a lot of other new equipment including a bottling line. Check out the video from The Coloradoan. Video
