Colorado Beer NewsToday is International Stout Day. It's also Sandwich Day and National Men Make Dinner Day. Guys, sounds like it's gonna be sandwiches and stouts for dinner tonight! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, November 3rd, 2011.

Big Beaver Brewing (Loveland) - It seems to be a trend - expansion. Big Beaver Brewing Company of Loveland is the latest brewery feeling growing pains and expansion plans are underway. Sales are way ahead of schedule for this year old brewery. New fermenters, a bigger tasting room and nearly doubling it's facility floor space are in the works for Big Beaver. New space has been obtained next door at a former church building. The new tasting room will be named "Saint Peter's" in honor of the old church, that and the fact that "Peter" kinda fits the theme of the brewery. Read the full story in the Coloradoan.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) will be the location this Saturday for a live remote of the Colorado Craft Beer Radio show from 12pm to 1pm. Come and watch John and Gary broadcast live on AM 760 Denver. Also during the afternoon, Arvada Beer will be releasing a limited quantity of some of their big new beers: 1pm Dopplebock, 2pm Wood-aged Barleywine, 3pm Russian Imperial Stout, plus a few surprises at 4pm and 5pm. Be there and check out this brand new brewery.

Untappd (Web Site) - Today is International Stout Day (#StoutDay). Make sure you check-in your favorite Stout on Untappd today to earn a special Stout Day Badge. Don't know what Stout to try? Ask your bartender or favorite brewer what they suggest.

Breckenridge Brewery (Denver/Breckenridge) - now that the snow is falling and the ski resorts are opening, it's that time of the year to roll out the 2011 edition of Breckenridge Christmas Ale. In honor of it's release, Breckenridge put together a short music video (below) to commemorate this year's release. Tommyknocker Brewery (Idaho Springs) - Hey Bronco Fans! Mark you calendars for Bronco Alumni weekend at TKB. Nov 12 the alumni will be guest bartenders, all tips benefit Clear Creek Youth Sports. Silent Auction and prizes all night. Sunday the 13th, come hang out with Bronco Alumni at the brewery and watch the Broncos play the Chiefs, rumor has it they will be raffling a Tebow Jersey. This is all sponsored by TKB and Pro Players Association. Come on, it's just a short drive up I-70 - be there!

Hunter's Moon Meadery (Severance) - At long last, bottles of Hunter's Moon mead products are starting to hit the shelves. Hunters Moon Meadery sold its first 2 cases of Mead to R.J.'s Wine & Spirits in Fort Collins, Colorado. Kim's Clove and Lunar Lemon are there waiting for you. Special Mead Tasting coming there soon! Look for more stores selling this new mead in the weeks to come.

Crabtree Brewing (Greeley) will co-host an event this Saturday at 11am at the brewery as part of Learn To Homebrew Day. Ever wanted to learn how to homebrew? Hosted by the Treehouse Brewers Club. Swing by the brewery this Saturday November 5th, 2011 at 11:00 am to learn the in's and out's of homebrewing! Rumor has it they will be doing 2 or 3 batches of all-grain brewing. Better time than any to learn! Crabtree Brewing - 625 3rd Street in Greeley.

All Colorado Beer Festival (Colorado Springs) - The big end of the year Colorado only brewery beer fest is this Saturday at the Colorado Springs Expo Center at 3650 North Nevada Avenue. There will be around 30+ Colorado breweries pouring nearly 100 different beers at two different 4.5 hour sessions (12pm and 5:30pm). $30 gets you unlimited 2oz samples while you listen to live music. Get your tickets early to avoid a 2nd line to get in.

Ale House at Amato's (Denver) is helping you celebrate International Stout Day by featuring three Colorado brewed stouts today. Today's featured stouts are: Breckenridge Brewery's Thunder Stout, Left Hand Brewing's Milk Stout, and Bristol Brewing's Winter Warlock Oatmeal Stout. Come taste the darkness!

Wit's End Brewing (Denver) - The beers at Wit's End are starting to venture out of the brewery and making appearances at local Denver bars. Their 1st tap in Denver will debut at 8pm Friday night at the Star Bar in Denver. A special event will include 3 of their beers on tap. There will be some giveaways and good times to be had. Come check it out.

Avery Brewing (Boulder) has announced all their Friday special tappings for November. Check these out: Nov. 4th - Eremita II, Nov. 11th - Coffee-infused Czar, Nov. 18th - Depuceleuse, and Nov. 25th - Rumpkin. Make plans now to be at Avery to sample these fine brews. Then on December 3rd get ready for their annual Mephistopheles release party at 6pm with a 3 year vertical tasting.
