Stronghold Beer (Denver) is a brewery in the works that was designed by home brewers, was 1 mans dream and concept, looks to break the beer world rules and hates the snow. Stronghold Beer is a grand collaboration of breweries and master brewers from around the U.S. by giving the input and creativity to help introduce new and ridiculous beers! Coming in 2012, you can expect to be drinking these beers: Bottomry Braggot, Parley IPA and Delilah Mexican Chocolate Chili Stout. Crooked Stave (Fort Collins) announced that the next brew to be released will be called "Fertile Soil - Fresh Hopped Golden Ale". Fertile Soil is an unfiltered fresh hopped golden ale, brewed with all local ingredients. This beer pays homage to Colorado agriculture and the wonderfully sunny state we live and brew our beers in. Crooked Stave sourced their malt from Colorado Malting Company in Alamosa, Biodynamic hops from Jack Rabbit Hill in the North Fork Valley, a Belgian yeast stream from the Brewing Science Institute in Woodland Park, and ice cold Rocky Mountain water from Fort Collins. Only 1038 bottles (71 cases) of this were made.

Breckenridge Brewery (Denver) - According to Westword.com, Breckenridge Brewery will start a new expansion project this week and will be added six new 300-barrel fermentation tanks. This will help increase their capacity by 50% in 2012. Demand for their beer is strong and this expansion will help them keep up. Breckenridge Brewing joins the ranks of several other Colorado breweries currently undergoing expansion projects. See full story on Westword.

Wynkoop Brewing Company (Denver) will host an American Home Brewers Association Membership Rally on Saturday, November 12th at 4pm in the pool hall upstairs. A big afternoon of do-it-yourself beer education, tasting and more for members of the AHA. Open to current AHA members and newcomers who join at the event. 2012 Beer Fest Calendar - The listings for next year's 2012 Colorado Beer Festival & Events Calendar are expanding. A new page for upcoming February 2012 events was posted yesterday with several initial entries. Look for additional months to be posted in the near future. If you know of any additional beer-related events that are not on the calendar please contact us and we'll consider adding it to the lists.

Crazy Mountain Brewing (Edwards) is already acting on it's current expansion project and is searching out locations in Southern California for potential restaurants and bars to ship to. Their capacity will be able to increase 10-fold and they plan on shipping outside of Colorado to nearby states.

Odell Brewing (Fort Collins) just wrapped up it's first week of their month long Dark Days of November. Their tap room is being dominated this month by anything and everything dark beer. There will be special firkin tappings, giveaways, live music and plenty of limited dark beers on tap all November long. Freshcraft (Denver) - The popular beer & food place Freshcraft will be hosting an Autumn Food & Beer Pairing Dinner on Thursday, November 17th from 6pm to 8pm. Their kitchen will be playing with the tastes of fall, focusing largely on pastas and the ways that those flavors interplay with beers of the season. There will be a maximum of 40 tickets sold with seatings every half hour starting at 6pm. Backcountry Pizza & Tap House (Boulder) has set the date for their Beer Camp Beer Dinner for Thursday night, December 1st from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Menu and details are yet to come. The cost of this special dinner will be $65 per person. Keep reading Colorado Beer News for upcoming details.

TRiNiTY Brewing (Colorado Springs) will be hosting a release party for "Emma's Coffin" (draught) this Friday, November 11th from 5pm to 11pm. It's Veteran's Day also and all Vets get 1 FREE beer or $1 off a growler. Also this Sunday, November 13th is their 3rd annual Saison Beer Dinner. Just two tickets left for this big meal. Prost Brewing (Denver) is coming this Spring 2012 to Denver at 2540 19th Street in the old Harold Call and Company building. This small brewery will specialize in German style beers and have 4 beers on tap including a hefeweizen, a dunkelweiss, a pilsner and a seasonal selection. Funkwerks (Fort Collins) has officially started their Winter Business Hours. Sundays 12pm-6pm, Monday-Thursday 12pm to 8pm, Friday-Saturday 12pm-10pm. Stop on in ans warm up with a nice saison.

Rock Bottom Brewery (Colorado Springs) - Baby it's getting cold outside... and why not warm up with their new southwestern-comfort food menu and a glass of Winter Wheat! The beer taps tonight at 6pm, with FREE samples until 6:30pm. Bingo at 9pm. It's an all-around busy and fun night!

Oskar Blues (Longmont) - The Coloradoan newspaper wrote a follow-up article about new breweries in Fort Collins today and let is slip that at one point, Oskar Blues was considering opening up a new bar/restaurant in Fort Collins but held back due to economic conditions. Rumor has it that plans may still be in the works to bring a Home-Made-Liquids-And-Solids like spot to FoCo in the not too distant future. (Pssst - tell them to bring one to Greeley, CO also!)

Black Bottle Brewery (Fort Collins) - in the same article from the Coloradoan, Black Bottle Brewing is still looking for a permanent location for their new brewery. A spot previously lined up fell through, otherwise they would already have started construction. Now they are spying a place at 320 Walnut Street and other locations near Prospect and College. Stay tuned for more info on this upstart operation.

Renegade Brewing (Denver) - is throwing a Customer Appreciation Night on Wednesday, November 23rd from 3pm to 9pm. They are thankful to have the best customers in Denver! From 3pm-9pm a different beer will go on sale every hour for $2! The only way to know which beer is on sale is to be present in the taproom!

Dad & Dude's Breweria (Aurora) - Check out the current tap list at D&DBs: Lemonbalm Blonde, 80 Shilling, Pumpkin Pie Porter, and Magnum PA (a dry-hopped IPA, with loads of Magnum hops). Beers coming soon: 303 Wheat, Red Ryeder, more Pumpkin Pie Porter ('tis the season), Liquid Resume Pale, India Brown (a yummy dry-hopped brown), and Hop Burst IPA (brewed with 24 ounces of Cascade hops).
