Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Brownie Day. Brownie lovers, love chocolate. Conversely, chocolate lovers and chocolate stout lovers, love brownies. Therefore, its only natural, that we have a special day to celebrate brownies. Whip up some in your kitchen today and pair it with a dark roasty brew. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, December 8th, 2011.

Lone Tree Brewing Company (Lone Tree) - At long last, Colorado will finally get to visit it's newest brewery today as Lone Tree Brewing Company officially opens it's doors to the public at 4pm and taps it's first brews today. They will have 5 beers initially available on tap for their opening with several more in the works for future pours. LTBC is located at 8200 Park Meadows Drive, Suite 8222 in Lone Tree. Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - Today's Thursday and that means the return of their weekly Outlaw Tap! Today's beer is a cranberry Car 21 that their taproom worker Lindsay has named Cranberry Caboose. Tapping at noon today, come on down and try a pint!

Copper Kettle Brewing Company (Denver) - After two months of aging their Belgian Golden Strong Ale, Copper Kettle will be releasing it on Saturday, December 17th at 5pm at their release party! This is one amazing beer and you don't want to miss it! It will be served in specialty 12 ounce snifter glasses. Sully's Slice Truck of Fat Sully's Pizza will be outside starting at 5pm. CKBC is at 1338 S. Valentia Street.

Trinity Brewing Company (Colorado Springs) - What are you doing today? Trinity will be tapping 18, yes 18 different Winter Beers starting at Noon today for their Winter Extreme Beer Tapping celebration. Join them for some winter warmers and lots of fun.

Highland Tap & Burger (Denver) - You are invited to join in as the Crafty Ladies and Highland Tap celebrate the tapping of their Chai Stout, a collaboration of the Crafty Ladies with Oskar Blues! They will tap the keg around 6:30 today. This beer is exclusively available in Denver at Highland Tap & Burger -- come try it while it lasts! Visit them at 2219 W. 32nd Avenue in Denver.

Cranknstein (Fort Collins) - Announcing a new Thursday night special: Cascade Taps. Here's how it will work. Any drafts purchased 8pm-9pm will be $2 off, 9pm-10pm will be $1.50 off, 10pm-11pm will be $1 off and 11pm-12pm will be $.50 off. They will be continuing their regular Thursday special of half-off appetizers.

Equinox Brewing (Fort Collins) - Today's holiday firkin is Cranberry Worm Whole Wheat. Conditioned with dried cranberries from the Food Co-op. Tapping at noon.

Rockyard Brewing (Castle Rock) is planning another Jellyman's One-Off Deviation celebration on Friday, December 9th at 4pm til 7pm. This time they will unveil "The King's Grog" - a Gruit recipe inspired by the brews of the 1600's. The King's Grog is dark and full of spices as hops were not used much in brewing. Seven spices and flowers as well as wild yeast Brettanomyces give this brew it's interesting flavors.

Renegade Brewing (Denver) - Morning NOM Alert! A reminder, this Sunday, December 11th at 10am, it's back by popular demand!The Sunday Morning Beer Brunch. Renegade is once again partnering with Chef Driven to bring you a perfectly paired beer brunch! 4 beer selections and 3 food courses. Call or come by the taproom to reserve your table. Reservations required. $20 per person.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Update via Oxymoron @ BeerAdvocate: Grimm Brothers is officially opening up their new tap room tomorrow 12/9. This will be at the same business park complex but in a different building. The address is 623 N Denver Ave. Should seat close to 80 people or so. In addition to the new digs, 4 new beers will be released... The Griffin - Hefeweizen - this will be a year round beer and should be around town eventually. Barleywine - more of an American style but with a mix of German and US hops. Biere d'Garde - malty Belgian style ale. First Belgian style for the brewery. And finally, Brett Aged Bock - nice brett character with a good malt backing. Nice hint of sourness but great tart brett character.

Big Beaver Brewing (Loveland) likes to pull it real slow. Their pork that is, their BBQ Pork that has been slow cooked Texas style over an open pit fire. Friday, Dec. 9th, they are going to introduce the Tuggerton, a quarter pound BBQ pulled pork served on a hoagie roll for $5. Hoppy Tug = one Tuggerton and beer for $8.40. Combine a beer with a slow pulled BBQ pork sandwich and there will be a happy ending. They stated: "Do not expect pickles, taters or freaking beans". Supplies are limited (8 pounds), so first come first serve!) Also, Saturday, Dec. 10th, will be their first Double Stamp Day. For their loyal Pint Club Membership Card holders, they will stamp you twice for every pint you buy in between 2pm and 6pm.

Avery Brewing Company (Boulder) - On February 4, 2012 Avery Brewing will be sponsoring the Echo Mountain Snow Dash. This extreme 5k has racers climbing over cargo nets, running up hill in the snow, crawling through powder pits, and darting up steep terrain. SnowDash is an obstacle course complete with snow, cold, five obstacles, and Avery beer! A great chance to come Earn Your Brew with us! Registration is 20% off at www.SnowDashColorado.com

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - Tomorrow is theirr first anniversary and they are celebrating with five special beers on tap! Stop by the taproom for chai-spiced White, amarillo dry-hopped Saison, crystal dry-hopped Saison, tropical fruit infused Tropic King, and a sneak peak at their dark strong saison! Also, Choice City Butcher & Deli will be providing delicious snacks after 4pm.
