It's a Canning Revolution - not only is Colorado known for it's great beers, it's also known as an innovator in canning it's craft beers. Now it seems that the local wine industry is catching on to canning as well and Colorado is once again leading the way. Infinite Monkey Theorem, a Denver based winery, began selling canned wines in June of this year. Their wines come in 250ml cans (about a glass and a half) and sell for around $6.99 each. It's a bit more than people usually pay, but they are selling. Read an interesting article by the NY Times about this surprising move for wine. What's next? Canned spirits? (Sorry, I'll stick to beer)

Steamworks Brewing (Durango) - Today is the FINAL DAY to get a screamin' deal on a lift ticket! Oskar Blues Hops & Heifers (Longmont) - news from their blog: Hops and Heifers introduces their new Berkshire Pork program! In an effort to continually utilize the Farm to increase the overall Oskar Blues sustainable system, they have integrated Berkshire pigs onto the Hops and Heifers farm. The Berkshire breed dates back over 300 years to the swine heard of Windsor. From royalty to emperors, Berkshire pork is prized for exceptional taste and tenderness. Oskar Blues worked with the only breeder in Colorado endorsed by the American Berkshire Association to source their pigs Zimmerman Pork in Hotchkiss Colorado. An 18 year Berkshire breeder and producer, Rick Zimmerman delivered three seven week old pigs to the Hops and Heifers Farm. The pigs will be hand raised with TLC, fed the finest grains, and fresh kitchen scraps of fruits, vegetables, and breads from the Oskar Blues restaurants. Look for Hops and Heifers Berkshire Pork available Spring 2012! As Jason Rogers Executive Chief of Oskar Blues and Top Chef of Northern Colorado quoted abut Berkshire Pork, “It’s unbelievably the best pork you can eat, and we want the very best!” .

Bonfire Brewing's TebrewBonfire Brewing (Eagle) - response to the news about their Tebrew beer has been overwhelming and has spread nationwide. They've been answering non-stop questions about the availability of this Tebowing inspired brew. They only made 150 gallons of this beer and are saving some of it for the upcoming Big Beers Festival in Vail in January. Plus they only make their beers available in Colorado and in kegs only. I'm thinking that Bonfire will need to make more 150 gallon batches of this beer, provided of course that Denver's favorite QB can keep winning.
