Crooked Stave releases more Wild Wild Brett brews

Crooked StaveCrooked Stave's color wheel just got a bit more colorful. Just before Christmas, Crooked Stave announced the release of two new beers in their Wild Wild Brett Series that should start hitting Colorado liquor shelves this week, just in time for New Year's Eve celebrations.

The first new brew is their Wild Wild Brett Yellow described as follows:

"The third installment of the series was inspired by the savory sweet combinations found in southern Indian cuisine through incorporating honey, turmeric, mango, coriander and additional spices. Yellow pours a golden hue combining tropical fruit and complex spice aromas with earthy citrus flavors and a dry tart finish."

W.W.B.Y. was conditioned for months in their special oak foeder.

The other new release is their Wild Wild Brett Green and is noted for it's "absurdly" hoppy notes. Green's label describes this beer like this:

"Green, the fourth installment of this series is our nod to absurdly hopped beers. Showcasing the Australian Galaxy hop, W.W.B.G. used 4 lbs of hops per barrel with dark tropical fruit hop characteristics dominating the flavor and aroma."

W.W.B.G was both fermented and conditioned in a neutral oak barrel which made it easier for them to dry hob the beer multiple times over the aging period. It resulted in an unfiltered "wild ale" with similar character. The hops will dominate this brew more than the Brett, but as time passes, the hop character will fade and let their house Brett character come out.
