March 2012March is still a time for playing in the snow, skiing, boarding and keeping warm. It's also nearly time to start thinking about Spring. While the number of events scheduled during March tend to be low, there are always drink and food specials going on at most Colorado breweries. And let's not forget about Saint Patrick's Day events. This page will be updated often as news of upcoming March events are announced.

Beer Bettys: Ladies Only Beer Club

This free to join Ladies Only club meets every Tuesday at 6pm. They are a grass roots group of women who are interested in learning more about beer, it's history, the flavors and more. Sample from over 100 different beers on tap.

Denver Restaurant Week

Denver Restaurant Week is a two-week celebration of the culinary scene in Denver. Participating restaurants will offer a multi-course dinner for the fixed price of $52.80 for two, or $26.40 for one (not including tax or gratuity). Pair that meal with a great Colorado craft brew. Coaltrain's Barrel Aged Beer Tasting

Join Coltrain Wine & Spirits at The Warehouse restaurant for the greatly anticipated Barrel-Aged Beer Tasting. The line-up is killer, with an imported beer flight including a couple oak-aged Trappist ales, followed by a domestic flight dominated by bourbon and whiskey barrel aging. This is a sit-down event that begins promptly at 6pm. The Warehouse kitchen will provide two food courses to pair with the beer flights as well as a light dessert. The cost per taster is $48 inclusive. Call Coaltrain at (719) 475-9700 to make your required credit card reservation. You may pay in advance over the phone or in person at Coaltrain. Their 3-day cancellation policy is in effect; ‘no-shows’ or late cancellations will be charged half price ($24).

This annual event celebrates putting Granpa Bredo on ice to one day find a way to bring him back to life. For a town like Nederland that thrives on the colorful, the offbeat, and the weird, Frozen Dead Guy Days is a fitting way to end the short days of winter and head into the melting snows of spring. Trygve Bauge calls it “Cryonics’ first Mardi Gras.” Come for a big line-up of live music, Coffin Races, Polar Plunges, Frozen T-shirt contests, Ice Turkey Bowling, Brain Freeze contests and of course lots of good Colorado craft beer in the ReAnimate Yourself Beer Tent in Chipeta Park (sponsored by Avery Brewing and Left Hand Brewing).

Yelp's Crafternoon Delight

This is the first event of Yelp's Crafternoon Delight - a series of events celebrating independent Colorado beer, wine, or spirits plus a plethora of DIY stations brought to you by Denver Craft Ninjas (http://craftninjas.net/) at Space Gallery. Please remember to RSVP for only ONE event or you will NOT be allowed to attend any of them. On Sunday, March 4th they're celebrating some of the wonderful breweries Colorado has to offer with tastings from the following breweries: Twisted Pine, Renegade Brewing, Colorado Cider, Oskar Blues, Asher Brewing and Breckenridge Brewing. Plus they'll have small bites from several vendors including: Mile High Vienna Stand, Buenos Aires Pizzeria, Frills Cake Shop, KIND snacks, Skoops, PopChips and Baker St Pretzels. This even is free with a $5 suggested donation per person to benefit Denver Urban Gardens.

10th Annual Boulder Strong Ale Festival

Cost: $40 per person, tix available starting Jan. 6th at 9am.
Featuring over 80 different strong beers (beers greater than 8% ABV) from some of the best breweries across the country, with many beers that are not otherwise available in the State of Colorado. Profits from the fest will be donated to craft beer industry friend Danny Williams, to assist with medical costs for his ongoing battle with cancer. Beers, Music, and Commemorative Pint Glass included with Admission.

Cost: VIP $100, General Admission $75, Private Tasting: additional $50.
While this many be a wine festival/benefit, they also will have a great supply of local Colorado craft beers in stock as well. Over 500 wines from around the world, great fresh food from local restaurants and caterers, plus an auction. Proceeds to benefit Disabled Resource Services. Wine Fest is among the largest and best-received wine tasting events in Colorado.
