Colorado Beer NewsToday is Martin Luther King Day. But what you may not know, it's also Appreciate A Dragon Day and National Nothing Day. So while many of us enjoy a day off of work and give thanks for the memory of a great civil rights leader, take time to watch a good movie that features a dragon and simply do Nothing! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, January 16th, 2012.

It's a slow brews day, but there are still a few tidbits of news coming out today.

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - the "I Have a Dream" Foundation will receive $1 from every pint sold out of their ale house today and tonight. Come by Twisted Pine and hoist a pint for a good cause!

Ska Brewing (Durango) - today is Happy Hour Yoga day at Ska Brewing starting at 5:30pm. For $10 you'll get a full hour of yoga and then 1 pint of beer of your choice from their taps.

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - Funkwerks gets a little bigger today. Two new fermenters were delivered today allowing them to significantly increase their brewing capacity. Stay tuned to their Facebook page for pictures of these big tanks.

Celebrity watch (Estes Park) - were you up at the Estes Park Winter Festival this weekend? If you were you might have seen good old boy Jack Nicholson posing with fans at the beer and wine tent. He was carrying a bloodied axe and shouting "Here's Johnny!". (For those of you who remember the movie - The Shining).

Ouray Brewery (Ouray) New Beer Alert! Today Ouray Brewery releases their Alpine Amber. It's now on tap at their tasting room. Known to be smooth and malty. Come get some Western slope!

Euclid Hall (Denver) - The Upslope Foreign-style Stout release party will be at Euclid Hall in Denver this Wednesday beginning at 5:00 PM. See you there! Also tonight at 5pm, stop in for some Dogfish Head Bitches Brew.

Carbondale Beer Works (Carbondale) - There will be an Olde Tyme Jam tonight at CBW! Bring your Banjo, Fiddle, washboard, spoons, saw, what have you and sit in! Pickin' starts about 7:00. For more music at brewery listings - check the Colorado Brewery Music page.

Cheeky Monk (Denver) - Don't forget to join them this Wednesday night at Westminster for Keep the Glass Night w/Duvel's limited series art glasses. $10 Duvel & Glass while supplies last!

Odell Brewing (Fort Collins) - Their latest brew - Footprint has hit the bottling line and will soon be on shelves. Stay tuned to taste this beer made with ingredients from all of the states they distribute to.
