Wiley Roots Brewing Company (Greeley/Denver) - reports last week of a new brewery headed for Greeley were a bit premature. While Wiley Roots Brewing is currently perfecting recipes here in Greeley, they plan to find a location in Denver for opening up their brewery. Right now, their plans call for opening up in a yet to be decided spot in the Mile High City sometime around May of 2013. Stay tuned for more details.

Pikes Peak Brewing (Monument) - While beer remains the primary focus at Pikes Peak Brewing, they also believe that interesting food goes well with interesting beer. During February on Fridays, their menu will have a decidedly Cajun theme in celebration of the upcoming Mardi Gras. They've also announced some upcoming beer releases: February 11th - Belgian Dubbel, and on February 27th their Firkin Monday Chocolate Stout.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - Special bonus Outlaw Tap today! In honor of Groundhog Day they've come up with a special Black Walnut Raspberry Porter - aka Punxsutawney Porter. It taps at noon - stop by for a taste or a pint.

Great Storm Brewing (Colorado Springs) - Colorado beer blog "Focus on the Beer" is doing a series on new breweries coming to the area and today's spotlight is on Great Storm Brewing. They plan to open at 204 Mount View Lane in Colorado Springs sometime in March 2012. Check out the full interview on Focus on the Beer.

Boulder Beer (Boulder) - Sometimes mistakes happen in the brewhouse, and in some cases that mistake happens to turn into something interesting. Westword reported that a recent back called "Bad Moon Risin' Double Black IPA" is actually an "awesome oops". The one-time only batch weighed in at 12% ABV and is a cross between Planet Porter and Mojo Risin' Double IPA. They can't make this again as they aren't quite sure of the recipe. Savor this while it lasts!

Odell Brewing Company (Fort Collins) - Who needs Punxsutawny Phil? Odell has the Goat (aka Red Ale) and it saw it's shadow today so that means it's going to be 12 more weeks until their St. Lupulin seasonal brew makes a return. In the meantime, there's still plenty of time to enjoy an Odell Red Ale.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - Today Arvada Beer is continuing their Brewers limited release at 4pm. The beer is a mystery until it's tapped, but it is based on the Olde Town Brown, and Friday they will be releasing the 2008 World Beer Cup and GABF Gold Medal Coffee Porter. The beer is named Corvus Coffee Porter after the Arvada Company that we had roast the coffee blend special for this beer release. They also sell the coffee beans at the brewery.
