Colorado Beer NewsToday is Singles Awareness Day. Either it's a retaliation holiday for single people who didn't have a date for Valentine's Day, or it's a day to celebrate the joy of enjoying a single bottle, can or pint of our favorite craft beer. Personally I like the latter better! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, February 15th, 2012.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - Not only is their Cache La Porter and Car 21 brews heading for cans this summer, but it appears their Old Town Ale and Stimulator Pale Ale are also getting plans for the can as well. Read more about it in today's spotlight article.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - The Count Kickoff begins. Saturday February 18th at 3 PM they will be releasing The Count, a Russian Imperial Stout aged for one year in Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels. This is a bottle only release, but they will be doing samples at the kickoff. They expect a great crowd so show up early. This will be your first chance to buy bottles of this very limited release in their Fabled Series. Read more news from today's newsletter here.

Revolution Brewing (Paonia) - Come to the brewery tonight for some live music and brews. Mark Berenson plays tonight. Local music fans will not be disappointed! Check out a preview here. For more brewery music listings, check our Music page.

Choice City Butcher & Deli (Fort Collins) - Choice City is celebrating their 8th Anniversary tonight at the deli in downtown Fort Collins. This highly ranked America's top beer restaurant will be tapping a special Odell Brewing firkin of Coconut Porter tonight at 6pm. Join in the celebration! There will be raffle prizes - top prize being 2 tickets to the Tomme Arthur beer dinner tomorrow night. Get $1 sliders during tonight's party.

Coopersmith's Pub & Brewing (Fort Collins) - You may not realize just how many different beers that Coopersmith's brews over the course of a year. Check out their Beer Finder web page and take a look at all the different brews they offer. Click on the various links and see how the beers shuffle!

Lucky Pie (Louisville) - Craft beer and neapolitan pizza bar Lucky Pie is opening their second location in Denver in two weeks. Lucky Pie Lodo will soon be open and serving great food and brews. Stay tuned to their Facebook page for upcoming details on the location and opening plans for this 2nd facility. 21 brews on tap (or more) at both locations.

The Mayor of Old Town (Fort Collins) - Want a chance to win $250 from the Mayor? They are going to have a huge special event on February 29th. Start gathering photos of yourself drinking a beer at The Mayor of Old Town, or a photo of the beer you drank at the Mayor, or any other Mayor related photo. Cicerone Certification Program (Nationwide) - Yesterday, the Cicerone Certification Program issued Certified Beer Server certificate number 10,000, passing a milestone that demonstrates widespread acceptance and respect for the program throughout the brewing and beer service community. The move into 5-figures of beer servers comes just four years and 42 days after this first-level exam was first offered to the public in the early days of January 2008. It took until March 2010 to issue certificate number 1000. Now it's really taking off!

Carbdondale Beer Works (Carbondale) - Several events coming up this next week. On Saturday, listen to My Countrymen play a variety of jazz and swing. On Monday, February 20th their hosting a Hoffbrau Party. Buy a pint of Hoffbrau and a Brat and get a sweet Hoffbrau glass. Then on Tuesday the 21st, there'll be a Mardi Gras Party and Trivia night. Beads, King Cake and more available. Stop on by.

Taps Sports Bar & Grill (Fort Collins) - The folks at Oskar Blues is getting ready for their canned debut of Oskar Blues Deviant Dale's. As an incentive for their pending release, Oskar Blues will be tapping a keg of Deviant Dale's at Taps Sports Bar tonight. There will be FREE SAMPLES to those who stop by. Avery Brewing (Boulder) - Mountain Sun will be tapping Coffeestopheles (aka Tweak aka Meph Addict) at both Boulder locations today at 4:20 pm! Stop by and get your fix of this rare Avery brew!

Freshcraft (Denver) - Another Pliny the Younger confirmation! Freshcraft will indeed be getting an allotment of Russian River's Pliny the Younger. According to Freshcraft: "It will happen very soon as we want to server this beer as fresh as possible. As soon as we know details we will announce them on our Facebook page".

Hops & Pie (Denver) - There's going to be a Dogfish Head tap takeover at Hops & Pie this Saturday, February 18th starting at noon in Denver. There will be 12 different DFH beers including: Bitches Brew, Hellhound on my Ale, Burton Baton, Immort ale, Faithful ale, Pangaea, Raison D'Etre, Fort, Midas Touch, Olde School, 120 Minute IPA and Chicory Stout. They will also be showing the movie "Beer Culture" all during the day. This is your big chance to really get to know Dog Fish Head beers. Located at: 3920 Tennyson Street in Denver.
