May 2012May marks the traditional beginning of the beer festival season in Colorado. School's are closing for the year, and vacation times are about to start. There are always plenty of drink and food events going on at most Colorado breweries and entertainment venues. This page will be updated often as news of upcoming events are announced.

Here is a list of the upcoming Colorado beer fests, beer dinners, tapping parties, seminars and related events for May 2012. These listings are updated every week, so stop back often to see the latest happenings with beer in Colorado. AHA Big Brew

This is a annual celebration of National Homebrew Day (May 5). Each year, homebrewers around the world invite family and friends to their brewing site on the first Saturday in May to celebrate the holiday. Everyone is encouraged to help out with the homebrewing some beer, enjoy the fun and join in on a world-wide toast at noon CDT. Find out where the designated Big Brew site is in your area and attend.

2012 Tommyknocker Beer Dinner

Colorado Beer Week brings together eight days of taste bud exhilaration and gastronomic exploration. Throughout the state, artisanal craft beers will be paired with locally grown foods and locally prepared menus crafted by Colorado’s best chefs. There simply is nothing else like it anywhere in the country. Throughout the week, restaurants, bars, hotels and brewpubs will be hosting events to not only sell more beer, but to give guests from around the world a better understanding of the versatility of this beverage that we are all so passionate about. Through a series of beer dinners, specials and events, we will soon be the number one stop for beer lovers every year.

Colorado Beer Week Opening Ceremony

United Tastes of Belgium

Join Copper Kettle, along with other Colorado craft breweries and other throughout the US to celebrate what we love about Belgian beers. Wynkoop Brewing Co will be hosting it's 2nd Annual Tastes of Belgium event! Sample Belgian styles from all over the US, focusing primarily on Colorado craft breweries. Advance tickets are $30, the fee includes beer and cheese samples and a special tasting glass. Advance ticket buyers are also entered into a drawing for a free pair of tickets to Copper Kettle's popular beer & scotch dinner on June 22nd!

American Craft Beer Week

The Beer Cocktail Bartender Faceoff

Seven of the best bartenders from around Colorado will face off with Colorado Craft Beers and Colorado Craft Liquors to create the best Beer Cocktail in the country. For one entry fee you will sample each of the unique beer cocktails and receive a full pour of your favorite one.

Left Hand & Firestone Walker Beer Dinner

There's a brand new beer fest starting this year and it's happening in Littleton, CO on Saturday, May 19th from 11am to 6pm. It's a big beer & food extravaganza. Over 70 local & national craft breweries will be featured. The cost is $25 credit card or $30 cash. There will be live music from 5 bands, a children's carnival area, an R/C racetrack set up, and even a Paintball Tournament on site. The event is hosted by Tipsy's Liquor World - 5869 S. The Grand Valley Beer Festival

The Grand Valley Beer Festival began in 2011. This is a craft beer tasting and “People’s Choice” fundraising event for the Maverick Club, the booster organization for Colorado Mesa University Athletics in Grand Junction, CO. Love Your Valley Festival 2012

Come out to Ridgway for some music, food and fun for everyone. There will be a microbrew sampling from over 13 regional breweries. Bring your kids, your dogs, heck even your mother-in-law. Live music from Shed. All proceeds raised will be used to fund the free Ridgway Concert Series in July. Beer from Steamworks, Telluride, Silverton, Ouray, New Belgium, Ska Brewing, Carver Brewing, Dolores River Brew Pub, Palisade Brewing, Colorado Boy, Moab Brewery, Gunnison Brewery and Durango Brewing.

9th Annual Blues, Brews, and BBQ Microbrew Festival

Saturday’s Microbrew Festival, held outdoors at on the back lawn at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, is the largest exclusively Colorado Microbrewery Beer Tasting in the state, featuring more than 80 special concoctions from 35 Colorado-based breweries from 1 to 5 p.m. Ticket includes a commemorative tasting mug. Sunday has a Beer Garden from 12pm - 6pm.

Small Batch Revival

It's party time at Odell Brewing. They're celebrating the joy of making small batches of beer. It's something Odell Brewing excels at. There will be Food, Live Music and plenty of beer. Over 20+ different kinds of Odell brew on tap! Kids are welcome but please leave your animals at home. Consider biking in for this event as parking is very limited!

11th Annual Festival of the Brewpubs

It's a Memorial weekend Beach Party! Join in for A-Basin's largest party of the year! Spend the day sampling mugs of beer from a variety of Summit County brewpubs for one low price per 14 oz mug (must be 21 and have ID).
