Colorado Beer NewsToday is the 1st day of March and with it brings the promise of Spring. Unfortunately for Colorado, it's one of the snowiest months of the year east of the mountains. So don't put your snow shovels away just yet. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, March 1st, 2012.

Equinox Brewing (Fort Collins) - March means one thing at Equinox Brewing - it's Mushroom March! All month their weekly firkins will be conditioned with various varieties of their second favorite fungus. At noon today they'll be tapping Sunrise Golden Ale conditioned with locally grown oyster mushrooms. Never tried beer with mushrooms? Here's your chance.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - It's another Thursday and that means another entry in their Outlaw Tap Contest! Today's is their Taproom Manager Cathy's Toddy Porter, a bourbon infused Coffee Vanilla Porter. It taps at noon today, come in quick as these contest beers are kicking fast!

Three Barrel Brewing (Del Norte) - You are invited to an evening of beer tasting with menu pairings @ The Silver Fork Restaurant in South Fork Colorado. March 3rd @ 6:00p.m - $45.00 per person - Please call for Reservations 719-873-2123. It will will a fun time.

Rockslide Brewery (Grand Junction) - Pardon their dust! The Rockslide Bar at the brewery has been undergoing a major remodeling during this last week. There is a brand new bar with brand new beer taps. Check out all the big screen TVs and more. If you're on the western slope, stop in at 401 Main Street in Grand Junction and check it out. Good beer, good food and lots of late night fun. Check out the remodeling pics on their Facebook page.

Breckenridge Brewery (Denver) - It may still be winter, but Breckenridge Brewery is already busy brewing up their SummerBright Ale and putting it into cans. Who cares if it isn't Spring or Summer yet! Good beer, no matter the season, should be enjoyed any time of year. Look for this beer on store shelves soon. It may be Winter but you can feel like Summer anytime!

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - Attention Denverites - Funkwerks will be hosting a beer tasting at Bonnie Brae Wine & Liquor Mart in Denver this Friday, March 3rd from 4pm to 6pm. Here's your chance to see what Funkwerks brews are all about and take some home with you. Located at: 785 S. University Boulevard in Denver.

Cranknstein (Fort Collins) - Mark your calenders! Cranknstein will have MyHandleBar's 2012 Season Launch Party here next Saturday, 5-7pm. Free rides on the bike, or bring your own bike and ride along. Same day they are also hosting the Choice City Rebels silent auction fundraiser from 4-8pm. Stop in for a beer!

Odell Brewing (Fort Collins) - Don't forget, today marks the Launch Party for a collaboration beer they did with Jax Fish House called: Emersum Oyster Stout. The brew will tap at 2pm until 6pm. Enter to win a "VIP JAX & Odell Brew Day". Come taste some complimentary Emersum Oysters. After this, the brew will be available at Jax Fish House in FoCo.

Trinity Brewing (Colorado Springs) - Don't forget, there is a Pliny the Younger tapping at Trinity tonight. Ticket sales start at 5pm and they are tapping the beer at 6pm. Last year they sold out in just 11 minutes! So don't be late.

The Mayor of Old Town (Fort Collins) - Now that Lagunitas Brewing (CA) has their distribution issues ironed out, the Mayor once again will have a Lagunitas beer on tap. They've just tapped the Lagunitas IPA. Come and get it.

Ska Brewing (Durango) - Ska Brewing has been a proud sponsor of the Durango Independent Film Festival since before it was born. The 7th annual DIFF began last night... so if you're in Durango, get out and see some films. Also, don't miss the "Stuntman Stories" event Saturday at the Back Space Theater at 4 p.m. Stuntman and Stunt Coordinator Bud Davis will be sharing stories and film clips from his career, including his work with Tom Hanks, Liam Neeson, Quentin Tarantino, Steve Martin, Pierce Brosnan, John Wayne and most importantly, Erik Estrada from "CHiPs". Vine Street Pub (Denver) - Pliny the Younger alert - At 4:20pm today, Vine Street Pub will be tapping Russian River's Pliny the Younger. They will hand out numbers on a first come, first serve line up. Get there early and get a glass while it lasts.
