West Flanders Brewing Company (Boulder) - The Boulder Daily Camera broke a story yesterday stating that the operators of The Sink in Boulder plan to take over a location currently occupied by BJ's Restaurant & Brewery at 1125 Pearl Street in Boulder and open up a new brewery/restaurant called: West Flanders Brewing Company. Part of this team included former members of Redfish back in 1996. This new brewery was named after Flanders, Belgium and will feature Belgian-style beers and other varieties. BJ's restaurant will remain in their current location until they move to a new location on 29th Street in Boulder later this year. Once BJ's vacates the building, the new business will move in. West Flanders will become a sister restaurant to The Sink.

Eddyline Brewing (Buena Vista) - Stop by the brewery tonight at 5:00pm and help Eddyline finalize their Boater Beer concept. Help promote your peaks and creeks. $2 pints of Boater Beer will be available. This will be a "Drink Tank" (not a think tank) of ideas that will be fueled by their fans and beer. Bring some ideas for "tag lines" for their can design.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - Today marks Hump Day Happy Hour. Get $1 off all pints from 4-6pm today. Have a beer and get over the hump. Located at: 5600 Olde Wadsworth Blvd. Opens at 12:00pm today. Also, now you can get their Goldline IPA at Ale House at Amato's in Denver starting today.

Pikes Peak Brewing (Monument) - Hop heads! Pikes Peak Elephant Rock IPA is now back on tap. Come get some! Located at: 1756 Lake Woodmoor Drive. Open 11am - 9pm today.

Hops Grill and Brewery (Littleton) - Hops Grill announced that their Flying Squirrel Nut Brown ale is now on tap and stated "You'd be nuts not to try one". It's a brew that even Boris and Natasha would enjoy. Located at: 8026 West Bowles Avenue, 1 block east of Wadsworth in Littleton. Opens at 11am today.

Big Choice Brewing Company (Broomfield) - Great news! This up and coming brewery has finally obtained their TTB and state approvals. They are now targeting a grand opening on May 4, 2012 in Broomfield. The brewery will be located at 7270 West 118th Place in Broomfield, CO. There will be at least one "soft" opening to test out the POS system as well as the beer draft lines. Stay tuned for news on one of Colorado's newest breweries!

Phantom Canyon Brewing (Colorado Springs) - NEW! They've added a Scottish Pale Ale. This cask ale is from an 1885 recipe and was originally brewed by Usher's brewery in Edinburgh. English Pale ales from the late 19th century were very straightforward, pale malt and lots of hops. This Scottish PA does it differently; pale malt, brown malt and roasted barley (added in the kettle) make for a beer with a dark twist. It features complex malt flavors backed by a solid hop backbone. Now on tap.

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - Berthoud's upcoming brewery is coming along on their renovations. They've just finished up work on the exterior and things are moving along well. This week they are getting one of their final inspections and if all goes well they will be bring their first batch next week. Target opening date is May 1st this year. Soft openings in late April are possible as well. Location: 321 Mountain Avenue in Berthoud, CO.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Don't forget, tonight at 5:30pm Grimm Brothers will be releasing "The Three Golden Hairs" - their Czech-style Pilsner. It's hopped up with Saaz hops. Come try one and see who ended up being their "Beer Drinker of the Year". Stick around - at 6pm they'll be giving away 2 free tickets to tonight's Colorado Eagles hockey game. Must be present to win.

Asher Brewing (Boulder) - The Giggling Greek is a new food truck that will be parking at Asher on Wednesdays. These guys know what they are doing and they do it well! Come grab some tasty Greek food and organic beers to celebrate hump day!

New Belgium (Fort Collins) - Not sure how old this news is but - another beer is getting shelved at New Belgium. New Belgium stated on Twitter that their Mothership Wit is being discontinued due to declining sales and to make room for all of their other new beers. So, if you still find any on the shelves better stock up as you won't be seeing it again (at least for a while anyway).

Molson Coors (Golden) - This article caught my eye as being a bit odd, according to Reuters, "Molson Coors Brewing Co said on Tuesday it will launch Coors Light Iced Tea and other new products, as the beer company fights to win a greater share of the struggling beer market". Initially, this "beer" will only be available in Canada and if the Canucks survive that trial it may come to the US. Personal comment - When macro beer starts struggling, perhaps instead of switching to flavored beers they should focus more on craft-like beers.

Dry Dock Brewing (Aurora) - According to a story by the Denver Post, Dry Dock Brewing Company is branching out into the sour beer category. They will be filling several chardonnay barrels this week that after 6 months of aging will become a new sour apricot ale. This will be a tap only beer and not packaged for resale initially. Check out the full story on the Denver post site.

Big Beaver Brewing (Loveland) - There are two new beers to try over at the Big Beaver. The first is Black Curly's IPA (a black IPA) and the next is their Big Woody IPA 2.0 (a double IPA). Stop in and see which of the two you like best. Located at: 2707 Unit 9 West Eisenhower Blvd. Opens at 2pm each day.

Steamworks Brewing (Durango) - Start St. Patrick's Day 1 day early this year at Steamworks. They'll be tapping a firkin of their Irish Car Bomb, their gold medal winning Backside Stout with a wee dash of Irish Cream and conditioned with John Jameson Irish Whiskey soaked oak infusion spirals. Get $1 draws on March 16th from 3pm until it's blown. Located at: 801 East 2nd Avenue in Durango, CO. (Fort Collins) - Stuck with nothing to do this weekend? Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - This Friday, March 9th from 3pm - 9pm there will be a new tap release celebration for their Amber Ale. It's billed as a malty brew with a light fruitiness, and a balanced hop profile and a rich red hue. Brew Club members can get an early taste of this tonight.

Wynkoop Brewing Company (Denver) - Tonight at the Koop at 6:00pm come meet Tim Myers, head brewer of Strange Brewing Company as they tap his Cherry Bomb Stout, ad dark stout with gobs of cherries, hints of coffee, and a strangely delicious lingering aftertaste. He'll be there to talk about his stout and his other ales. Meet upstairs in the pool. Runs 6pm to 8pm. Location: 1634 18th Street in Denver.

Strange Brewing Company (Denver) - It's One Barrel Wednesday time again Strange followers!! Today we release the Caber Toss; a Smoked Scottish Ale with grains smoked using whiskey staves from a local distillery. Get it before it's gone. Location: 1330 Zuni Street, Unit M in Denver.

Black Bottle Brewery (Fort Collins) - Time for an update on this upcoming brewery. Here's an official quote from Sean Nook (owner/brewer): "We are still undergoing licensing, and construction biding. Construction will not start for a little while. We will keep you all posted. For those who might not know..... We are a brewpub, not just a brewery! We are going to have food but they are all going to be unique small plates... So if you want a 72 oz stake and taters, go somewhere else. If you want good beer and smaller portions of kick ass food then come BBB... In addition to our 10 to 15 taps of our house beer. We will also have guest taps. We are purchasing a 40 tap, tap system. We will also have a nice bottle list of beers. A great wine and mead list and wine and mead on tap. To top it all off we will have top shelf liquor." - stay tuned for more updates as they get closer to opening.
