Colorado Beer NewsToday is Panic Day, a day for everyone to be worried and concerned. But about what? My advice: as Charlie Papazian once said - "Relax! Don't worry. Have a homebrew". Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, March 9th, 2012.

American Craft Beer Radio (102.3 FM ESPN) - tomorrow morning ACBR will go live at 11am (not the usual 12pm) and will be broadcasting live from the patio at Avery Brewing's 2012 Strong Ale Fest. Some of the guests will include, Todd Haug, Head Brewer from Surly Brewing Company, Andy Parker Head Barrel Herder from Avery Brewing Company, always a fan favorite and a crowd pleaser Todd Thibault aka "TEBO" from Breckenridge Brewery of Colorado, and Dustin LeMoine will be performing tricks as co-host! It all starts tomorrow morning at 11am on 102.3 ESPN Denver. www.denverssportsstation.com

Pagosa Brewing Company (Pagosa Springs) - Poor Richard's Ale x3! A special offering for today Friday, March 9th. They've got their national award winning Poor Richard's Ale available three (3) ways: Draught Poor Richard's, Cask Poor Richard's, and Dry Dock's Poor Richard's. Stop by to compare all three!

The Pub Dialogues (Denver) - You are invited to the next session of The Pub Dialogues; a quasi-monthly event open to the public that allows people to discuss important topics. Their motto is, "out of the chat room, into the pub". They want people to talk face to face more, and what better place to do it than a local brewpub? They have experienced facilitators who will keep discussions in small groups civil, engaged and fun. Our first session at Wynkoop was small, but very successful. This session will be at Vine Street Pub, March 20th from 6-9pm. The topic this time is: The State of Education. Participation is FREE!

Avery Brewing (Boulder) - To welcome the beers of brawn from around the country, the Avery Tap Room will be closed for regular business hours today. They hope to see you at 5pm for the start of the 10th Annual Boulder Strong Ale Fest!! If you can't make it, please don't forget to raise a glass of your favorite brew in honor of the late great Danny Williams!

Colorado Craft Beer Show (760AM Denver) - The weekly radio show will have a new regular monthly location for Live remotes. The Colorado Craft Beer Show will broadcast their radio show from Arvada Beer Company every last Saturday of the month starting March 24th from Noon to 1pm. This is located at 24th at 56th and Old Wadsworth in Arvada. Coming up tomorrow at noon, the CCBS welcomes the fine folks from Elevation Beer Company. They'll be talking about their new single hop beers: First Cast IPA with Zythos hops and First Cast IPA with Summit hops. Tune in at noon on AM 760 on Saturdays.

Boulder Beer Company (Boulder) - According to BeerPulse.com: "Boulder Beer Co. President, Jeff Brown, was among the guests on The Brewing Network’s Sunday Session this past week. One of the company’s reps also came on and re-iterated that the company is working diligently on a plan of attack for distribution in California." - So the legend of Boulder Beer may soon hit the West coast - stay tuned for more on this.

Colorado Liquor Laws (Greeley) - The City of Greeley Colorado is going to start allowing open alcohol containers on some of their streets this summer. The city council voted to adopt an ordinance that would allow for open liquor containers o 9th Street (downtown) on Friday's from 5pm to midnight during summer months. This follows on a new Colorado state law that allows communities to offer open container entertainment districts. Even the Greeley police are OK on this idea. This new policy will go into effect sometime in May.

Phantom Canyon Brewing (Colorado Springs) - tomorrow, March 10th, marks the release of Phantom Canyon's Methuselah Rookie Card at noon. This beer is a sour red ale with cherries and was aged in French oak barrels for 2 years. It's a very limited run of just 100 bottles so you'll have to attend the release to get one.

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - Tonight marks the release of their American Amber Ale at 3pm. There will be food available from Mestizos starting at 5pm as well. Stop in and try a pint tonight!

Stoneys Bar and Grill (Denver) - Come to the Spring Melt Brew Fest at Stoneys on Saturday, March 10th from 7pm to 10pm. Come and sample over 150 different beers from all over Colorado and the US. This event is a benefit for Casting 4 A Cure and the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Located at: 1111 Lincoln Street in Denver.

Coopersmith's Pub & Brewing (Fort Collins) - after two years in the making, Coopersmith's is proud to debut their new Belgian style Kriek. It's now on tap on in the Pub and Pool. Patrons are raving about this one.

What's Pouring Around Colorado - Thirsty? Here's what's new around Colorado. Dry Dock Brewing (Aurora) has a new firkin today: Hop Project:X. Taps Sports Bar (Ft. Collins) has Monkshine Belgian Blonde from Uinta Brewing for their B.O.T.D. Backcountry Pizza (Boulder) got a firkin of Oskar Blues Dry Hopped Dale's in today. Denver Beer Company (Denver) is offering up their Sunny Side Hefeweizen today. Mountain Sun has 3 dark beers on Nitro tap now including Old School Dry Irish Stout, Java Porter and Korova Cream Stout. And finally, Upslope Brewing is being featured at the Rackhouse Pub in Denver today tapping their Secret Firkin No. 9, Bourbon Barrel Brown, Double IPA, Craft Lager and their Pale Ale.

Great Storm Brewing (Colorado Springs) - It's confirmed, opening day for Great Storm Brewing has been set for Thursday, March 24th. Stop in at 204 Mount View Lane #3 in the Springs and say hello. Open day special: $1 off pints between 6pm-8pm.
