Colorado Beer News 032312

Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Day of Unplugging. Starting tonight at sundown across the nation, everyone is asked to try to set aside all aspects of technology, including your cell phone and just unplug. Challenge yourself not to use your electronic devices until the following sundown on Saturday and simply reconnect with people face to face. (LOL OMG WTF is that even possible?) Yes, it can be. Go visit your favorite brewery or watering hole and have a beer with a friend. #UNPLUG Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, March 23rd, 2012. TGIF!

Crystal Springs Brewing (Boulder) - This small Boulder-based brewery is currently coming back up to speed and has some new brews coming out in the near future. They're brewing a classic 1980s American wheat beer that should be available in a week or two. This will be available in kegs and later in 12oz bottles. Also in the works is a lambic style ale that will take a year to finish, expect to see that by Spring 2013. There's also a full brett beer being worked on that is tart and similar to a Berliner Weisse. Their Tic Wit and Butch Extra (Special) Pale Ale is also being readied. Plus, in the late fall look for their barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout to debut. In May, they expect to release Summertime Ale in 16oz cans with the help of Mobile Canning of Longmont.

Odell Brewing (Fort Collins) - Word on their Facebook page stated that Odell's Double Pilsner will soon be coming back to taps and store shelves. Look for this brew to return in the coming weeks.
