Colorado Beer News 040612

Colorado Beer NewsToday is New Beers Eve Day. Back in 1933, it was the night just before Prohibition Repeal went into affect and beer drinkers around the world lined up outside bars to get their first taste of legal suds once again. Then tomorrow is #SessionDay, celebrating lower alcohol beers, the only kind that were legal when Prohibition ended. Have a beer 4.5% ABV or lower tomorrow when you celebrate. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, April 6th, 2012.

Oskar Blues (Longmont) - Looks like Oskar Blues is expanding again. They just posted some new pics on Facebook of new tanks being put into place. 400 barrel brites and 200 barrel fv's. More tanks = more beer!

Trinity Brewing (Colorado Springs) - For the first time EVER, Trinity will be pouring SAiSON MAN tonight at 5 PM! This long anticipated golden Belgian Ale is a 'Post Industrial Session Saison', brewed with weyerman pilsen, rye, flaked wheat, flaked oats, spelt, and grains of paradise. They hopped this beer with Styrian Goldings and Czech Saaz to create a bitter and dry profile, then fermented this recipe with 2 farmhouse yeast strains and Drie Bretta to create spicy and light barnyard notes. Come try some tonight.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - Duncan's Ridge Dark G.F. (gluten free) previews today. They only made a limited amount of it so come in and give it a try. Taps today at noon. This beer is full of flavor and holds a thick creamy head. Its based upon a brown porter recipe but with a twist all its own. It combines coffee and a chocolate to enhance the molasses, chicory root, and German hops used in this beer.
