Breckenridge Brewery (Denver) - Having reached production capacity, Breckenridge Brewery is looking to expand, but due to restrictions imposed by Colorado law, a brewpub may only produce up to 60,000 barrels of beer a year. There was some legislation introduced in the Colorado legislature that would have allowed brewpubs like Breckenridge to expand, but there has been some opposition and now law makers will not try to push new laws through. Due to this, Breckenridge feels forced to look towards building a 2nd brewery somewhere on the East Coast and instead take new jobs with them that would otherwise have landed here in Colorado. For a full story, look at the recent Denver Business Journal article from Ed Sealover.

Lucky Pie (Louisville) - There will be a tapping of Avery Sacrilicious today at 4pm at Lucky Pie. This is a big 10% ABV Belgian dark strong ale and the keg will drain fairly quickly. Get there early if you want some.

Crabtree Brewing (Greeley) - As a follow-up to yesterday's article that mentioned that their tasting room was moving to a new location, last night Jeff Crabtree revealed the location for this new operation will be around the 2900 block of West 29th Street in Greeley. Plans are moving ahead to install a new fire suppression system in an existing building. The tasting room will be moved to this building by the end of July 2012. Once the tasting room is moved, the brewhouse at their original location will expand temporarily until such time that the entire brewery will be relocated to this new location. Yup! Crabtree plans to eventually move the entire brewery! The new location will be close to several restaurants, hotels and the Greeley Mall.
