Colorado Beer NewsHappy June! Today is Leave the Office Early Day which is celebrated on the first Friday of June. It's a holiday your boss may not recognize, but since it's practically summer and the weekend is upon us - why not! Go celebrate with a nice cool craft beer after work. If you can't get off work early, you can always celebrate National Doughnut Day instead! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, June 1st, 2012.

Telluride Blues & Brews Festival (Sept. 14-16) - The list of bands has just about been finalized for the 3 day event in Telluride, CO this year. Headliners include: Phil Lesh & Friends, Gov't Mule, The B-52s, The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Little Feat and dozens more! Free Fishing Weekend (Colorado wide) - Grab your beer and your fishing poles Colorado. It's officially a free fishing weekend in Colorado. On June 2nd and 3rd, no license is required to fish in our state. Grab your belly boat, float a 6-pack and hit your favorite fishing hole and enjoy!

Vail Beer EventCrazy Mountain Brewing (Edwards) and Bonfire Brewing (Eagle) - Looking for a free beer? There will be FREE BEER tonight at Vail Cascade Resort from 4pm - 7pm at the Fireside Lounge. Crazy Mountain and Bonfire Brewery will both be pouring. No food purchase required! Just stop by, drink some free brews and meet the brewmasters. What could be better?! Located at 1300 Westhaven Drive in Vail, CO. Then stick around on Saturday for the Small Plates & Craft Beer Pairings event at 4pm. Details on the poster(Click to enlarge).

American Craft Beer Radio (102.3FM) and Colorado Craft Beer Show (AM 760) will both be doing live remotes from Avery Brewing Company this Saturday at the Boulder SourFest. Gary V's ACBR show starts at 11am to 12pm and then Turk and Gubna's CCBS starts at 12 noon to 2pm. If you're going to the SourFest, stop by and say hello to the radio boys.

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - Don't forget, there will be a release party at the brewery tomorrow for their 6th Artisan Series ale called "Black Swan Black Saison". The release party starts at 12 noon, Saturday June 2nd and will run until 9pm that night. Stop in and try some and perhaps take a bottle or two home with you. More details in their Press Release.

Bread and Brew Festival (Carbondale) - The 1st annual Carbondale Bread and Brew Festival will be held on June 1st and 2nd at the Performing Arts Center at Third Street in Carbondale, CO. Taste craft beers and home made breads, learn about making both beer and bread. Live music on site. Over 16 breweries will be pouring. Details can be found on their website.

Manitou Springs Colorado Wine Festival (June 2nd) - Looking for a change of pace from beer this weekend? Word has it that there's a wine festival happening on Saturday down at Memorial Park in Manitou Springs, CO from 11am to 6pm. Apparently several meaderies from Colorado will also be serving up samples. Tickets available at the gate starting at 11am. 25 wineries will be in attendance.

New Belgium (Fort Collins) - BeerStreetJournal is reporting that New Belgium and Elysian Brewing are teaming up once again to produce another in their TRIP Series of collaboration beers. This time it's a 5.1% ABV Blonde Ale brewed with honey and chamomile and packaged in 22oz bottles. New Belgium and Elysian Brewing have put out over a dozen different Trip Series collaborations in the past. Look for this beer to be on shelves in the near future. - Also, New Belgium is doing another music group collaboration with G-Love to produce a beer called "Peach Porch Lounger", a strong ale. It's a 9.4% ABV brew that will become part of their Lips of Faith series. This ale is made with molasses, lemon peel and peach juice. Coming soon.

Trinity Brewing (Colorado Springs) - Time for another First Saturday Firkin. On Saturday, June 2nd at 11am they will be tapping a citrus driven Flo IPA that's dry hopped with Bravo, Styrian Goldings, and Willamette to amke it more on the piney and spicy side. Serving it up for $3 a pint til it's gone. They will also have 5 different house Saisons on tap throughout the month of June: Saison Man, Farmhouse 'Three Flower,' Farmhouse Du Tomme, Farmhouse GOPrisais (Go Pree Size), and a Chardonnay Barrel Aged house Saison.

Dry Dock Brewing Company (Aurora) - Today's Friday Firkin will be a special Toasted Coconut Porter that you won't want to miss. This limited batch gets tapped at 3pm and goes until it's killed. If you miss the first one, they'll tap another one sometime between 7pm to 8pm.

Avery Brewing Company (Boulder) - For those of you (like me) who didn't get tickets to the SourFest on Saturday, you can still stop down to the tap room at Avery tonight at 5pm for a Friday tapping of "Bad Apple", a peaceful sour Belgian ale that's been aging in oak barrels with apples for 6 months. This great sour apple beer will also be a featured brew at SourFest tomorrow, but you can try it today!
