Colorado Beer NewsToday is another Monday, ya we feel your pain. Did you survive the Boulder SourFest? Don't worry, the hardest part of Monday is over - waking up and starting your day. Cat lovers can always go celebrate National Hug Your Cat Day today. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, June 4th, 2012.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - Pateros Creek is experiencing growing pains and they'd like to expand their tap room. To do so, they need your help. They have set up a fundraiser site on CommunityFunded.com and are asking their fans to help with this expansion effort. They are seeking to raise $30,000 to expand into the vacant space next door to the brewery. Pateros Creek has added many incentives to those willing to donate to this cause. The deadline for helping them is July 27th.

Equinox Brewing (Fort Collins) - Made your July 4th holiday plans yet? on Tuesday night, July 3rd from 5pm to 8pm they are throwing a Salute to the Stars and Stripes at Equinox Brewing. Join Equinox and Fish Restaurant to kick off your 4th of July celebrations. Advanced tickets can be purchased before July 3rd at Equinox or Fish for $10 and gets you three nibbles of delicious food from Fish and three 5oz beers. Food is $4 a nibble day of event. Live music 5:00pm-7:00pm. Items include: Oysters on the Half Shell, Asian Shrimp Skewers, and Fish Cakes.

Greeley Blues Jam (Greeley) - This year's Greeley Blues Jam is coming up this week on June 8th and 9th. There will be several venues hosting live blues music this weekend including: Island Grove Park, The Clarion Hotel, Kress Cinema Lounge, Dutch's, Sky Night Club, Rio Grande Mexican, The Jager, The Penalty Box, Patrick's Irish Pub, Roasty's and Batter Up Cakes. Several venues serve craft beer. Grab a seat, have a brew and listen to some awesome blues! For tickets and info visit the official web site.

Colorado Brewers' Festival (Fort Collins) - This year's festival is going to be bigger and better than ever. The festival is scheduled for June 23rd and 24th in Downtown Fort Collins in Civic Center Park. Today, the festival announced that they are growing their venue locations to include Washington Park as well this year (near 301 Maple Street). More space for enjoying a brew, eating some tasty food and listening to music! Tickets are available now for as little at $20 (plus fees) per day. Or if you'd like to indulge, they offer a $100 VIP/Connoisseur Package for a Friday event as well as the full weekend. Details at their website.

Benefit Beer Tasting (Greeley) - On Thursday, June 7th, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm at the St. Michael's Event Center at 3055 65th Avenue in Greeley, the 14th Annual Beer & Wine Tasting & Silent Auction will be held. This event will benefit Meals On Wheels of Greeley & Weld County. The $20 Admission fee gets you access and a light buffet. For ticket info call (970) 353-9738. This event is sponsored by Hillcrest Liquor and La Salle Classic Liquor.

Big Beaver Brewing (Loveland) is throwing a BBQ this Saturday, June 9th from 2pm to 8pm and everyone is invited. They have teamed up with Wholey Smoke! BBQ and will be doing a BBQ at the brewery. Choose from pulled pork, brisket, and chicken, plus 2 sides for $10 a plate. Big Beaver will have suggested Beer/BBQ pairings, and an opportunity to sample each of our Big Beaver Beer BBQ sauces with the meat to decide which is your favorite! BBQ sauces: $4 for a half pint of handcrafted, all natural sauce made with the finest beer around! Choose from: Virgin Beaver (Wheat Mustard), Old Beaver (Original IPA), Hot Ass Beaver (Spicy Chili), and Sweet Beaver (Sweet Porter). Located at 2707 W. Eisenhower Boulevard in Loveland, CO.

Hunters Moon Meadery (Severance) - For those who missed it yesterday, Hunters Moon Meadery owners Greg & Kim held a big Open House at their home-based meadery and were showing off their fermentation room and their bee colonies. Samples of 4 of their meads were given out and a lot of people turned out for this event. Fermentedly Challenged has posted a Photo Album of the event on Facebook. Check it out and don't forget to Like us while your at it. Have you ever tried mead before? You should!

New Beer Labels Approved - During this last week, new beer labels were approved for two local breweries. 1) The Incredible Hop Imperial Rye IPA from The Fort Collins Brewery in 22oz bottles. 2) The Fort Collins Brewery also got a new label approval for their next batch of Double Chocolate Stout. 3) AC Golden has a new brew headed for 750ml bottles called AC Golden Apricot Ale - aged in oak wine barrels. And 4) New Belgium Billy's Beer (Ale with Ginger Root and Kiwi Juice added) keg label - soon to be part of their Lips of Faith series. Look for these beers debuting soon at a store or tap room near you.

Bull & Bush (Denver) - According to Jonathan Shikes at Westword, due to the four medals that Bull & Bull won during the recent 2012 World Beer Cup, they plan to tap a keg of Man Beer today at 4:04pm and serve pints for FREE until it's gone. Man Beer won gold at the World Beer Cup this year. Get there early so you can get a FREE pint while it lasts.

Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - Did you know that Niwot will host FREE weekly summer rock concerts starting June 21st? It's called "Rock N Rails" and happens on the railroad tracks at Whistle Stop Park (corner of 1swt and Murray). The park open at 5:30pm and live music happens from 6:45pm to 8:45pm. Left Hand Brewing will be setting up a beer tent there in the beer/wine/margarita garden. Check out the website to see who's playing. Concerts are on Thursday nights through September 6th.

South Pearl Street Brewgrass (Denver) - The 6th annual South Pearl street Music Series will return in force for the 2012 season with BrewGrass on Saturday, June 9th. Held on the 1200 block of South Pearl Street, located north of Louisiana and south of Buchtel in Denver. This South Pearl Street Music Festival promises to keep your foot tappin’ & your body movin’ with 8 bands. Micro-breweries will be on hand to quench your summertime thirst and a notable mix of your favorite eateries to keep you fueled.

Summit of Bluegrass and Brews (Dillon) - It's back for another year, the Summit of Bluegrass and Brews will return to Marina Park in Dillon, Colorado on June 23, 2012 with over 25 Colorado breweries. During the beer tasting event from 1:00-5:00, enjoy live music by Marty Jones and the Great Unknowns. Tickets to the unlimited beer tasting cost only $30 and benefit the Colorado Brewers’ Guild and the Dillon Business Association. Food vendors will be on site with lots of tasty options. Following the beer tasting, move down to the Lake Dillon Amphitheatre for a great, FREE concert with the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience.

Garden Grapes and Hops (Denver) - Denver Botanic Gardens is excited to bring back their Garden Grapes & Hops event on Friday, June 8th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm – a fun summer party featuring food, drink and live entertainment. Spend an evening in the Gardens’ natural beauty with your friends at Garden Grapes & Hops. Due to the nature of this event, no one under the age of 21 will be permitted into the event. The Forge Publick House (Fort Collins) - Brewery Nights are back at The Forge! Come down on Thursday Nights from 6pm to 8pm and meet reps from the featured brewery and pick up some free beer swag, apps and $3 craft beers. June 7th - Pateros Creek, June 14th - Breckenridge Brewery, June 21st - Grimm Brothers Brewhouse, and June 28th - Firestone Walker. Located in the center of Old Town Fire House Alley.

Gore Range Brewery (Edwards) - Their MUG CLUB Renewal Notices are going out today! They will start to sell mugs that don't renew, or that are available, on the 15th. So get yours, and start enjoying their brew for less!

Pikes Peak Brewing (Monument) - This month, Pikes Peak will be celebrating their anniversary. By next week, you'll be able to enjoy their completed beer garden expansion with double the seating area plus an outdoor stage for music. On June 20th, there will be a Brewer's Dinner - RSVP to join in (719) 208-4098. Then on June 23rd, there will be a Road Bike Ride earlier in the day and then from 4pm - 7pm there will be a Family Picnic with complimentary brat dinner. RSVP for that as well to the same number.

Great Divide Brewing (Denver) - Good news! Rumble, their oak-aged IPA, is back in bottles once again and is available for summer sipping. Also, don't forget to sign up for their 18th anniversary party on Saturday, June 16th from 2pm to 6pm. Tickets are $25+fees and gets you a food truck food ticket, live music, and lots of tasty beer. Dry Dock Brewing (Aurora) - On Monday May 14th, Dry Dock Brewing Company officially announced their upcoming expansion plans. Owners Michelle and Kevin DeLange are under contract to purchase a 30,000 square foot building in Aurora, Colorado. This second location will house a 4-vessel, 40 barrel brewhouse that will eventually be capable of producing more than 60,000 barrels of beer per year. Located just south of I-70 on Tower Road, the new facility should be producing beer by the end of the year, aiming to brew 12,000 barrels in the first year. Dry Dock plans to start by focusing their distribution in Colorado, and begin to consider out of state markets in 2014. The current Dry Dock Brewery location will remain unchanged, continuing its dual roles of a working brewery and flagship tasting room.
