Colorado Beer NewsToday is Daniel Boone Day. June 7th marks the day in 1769 when the explorer and woodsman first entered the forests of what would later become Kentucky. Bring out that explorer in yourself today and try a new craft beer style you've never had or have rarely visited. Who knows, you might just discover a new territory in craft beer to explore on your own. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, June 7th, 2012.

Freshcraft (Denver) - Hop Heads - Freshcraft needs your help! They just signed up for the Stone Brewing Co. Most Bitter Bar Challenge that kicks off tomorrow. They'll be pouring several "In Your Face" hop forward beers between June 8th -17th. To kick it off tomorrow they'll be tapping a special Double Dry Hopped version of Stone IPA at happy hour (3 pm) which means $4 pints of this glorious lupulin infused libation from 3-7pm, plus for $2 you'll be able to "Keep The Pint".

Equinox Brewing (Fort Collins) - Today's Thursday firkin at Equinox Brewing is an Eclipse Brown Ale primed/conditioned with wildflower honey from Wellington, CO. This beer should be a good warm up for the release of their Honey Gitter Ale tomorrow. Tapping at noon!

Bonfire Brewing (Eagle) - By popular demand (and to keep things a little lighter at softball), Bonfire's Brush Creek Blonde Ale is coming to cans at the end of this month! Bonfire had to change the name of this beer to avoid confusion with Left Hand Brewing Company's Pale Ale. Look for the 12oz yellow and blue cans later this month.

Wynkoop Brewing (Denver) - There's a special Whiskey / Barrel Aged Beer Dinner being planned at the Wynkoop Brewing Company for Friday, June 22nd at 7:00pm. The dinner includes 5 courses paired with selections of both fine distilled whiskey as well as a unique barrel-aged beer. This dinner is not for the faint of heart (or stomach). Breckenridge Colorado Craft (Denver) - The new sign is now up on their building. Over the next several weeks the old Breckenridge Ballpark Pub will be working to change their logo and name in the aspects of social media, posters etc.. They wish to thank all of you for your cooperation while this process takes place. Their new official name is Breckenridge Colorado Craft! (So don't be scared when they answer the phone that way, they are still apart of Breckenridge Brewery).

Dry Dock Brewing (Aurora) - As they say, Sometimes you need a growler, and sometimes you just need a Little Guy! Their new Half-growlers are now in port. It's $4 for the glass, and $6 and up for the fill after that.

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - Available now, Codename: Ron Burgundy is officially tapped today. Stop by the brewery for a full or half glass of their first ever red wine barrel-aged beer.

Great Storm Brewing (Colorado Springs) - Plan to visit Great Storm Brewing on Thursday, June 21st from 5pm to 7pm for a special Midsummer Party. It's on the longest day of the year and they'll have free live music and also be tapping four new beers! Stop in to try one. Located at: 204 Mount View Land #3 in the Springs.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - It's going to be a busy weekend for Arvada Beer. Today Happy hour runs from 12pm to 7pm, and at 4pm their Brewers Limited Release will be tapped. It's a beer based on Ralston's Golden Ale. Tomorrow Happy hour will be from 11am to 3pm, and the March of Dimes Fundraiser "Texas Holdem" starts at 5pm. Saturday Happy Hour goes from 11am to 3pm. The Arvada Farmers Market will be in the square from 10:30am to 2:30pm. Arvada Beer Company will be at the Brewgrass Fest down at South Pearl Street from 1pm to 10 pm. Sunday get $2 off growler fills all day and Happy Hour from 6pm to close.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - Don't forget! The 1st anniversary party at Pateros Creek is this Saturday at 4pm. Stop in at 242 N. College Avenue in FoCo for music, food and a whole lot of fun on tap. There'll be 3 Outlaw contest favorites on tap as well. Stop in, have a brew and celebrate with their crew.

Summerfest at The Landmark (Greenwood Village) - Looking for a fun fest that's near Denver? Check out the 2012 Summerfest at The Landmark at 7600 Landmark Way in Greenwood Village. It's fun for the entire family featuring classic cars, a wide variety of delectable food and beverages (hint beer), lively entertainment and a Kid Zone featuring jumping, golf putting and "clowning" around. One ticket provides access to all you can sample food, micro-brews and beverages from more than 20 of Denver's top restaurants and micro-breweries. Day of event cost $30. More info at their website.

Hops & Pie (Denver) - Time for another Littlest Big Beer Fest this Sunday, June 10th starting at 2pm. This time they're featuring the beers of Russian River Brewing of California. Sample flights and single pours from beers such as Pliny the Elder, Redemption, Supplication, Sanctification and Damnation. Located at: 3920 Tennyson Street in Denver, CO.
