Colorado Beer NewsToday is Cheer Up the Lonely Day. This is a day to promote kindness towards those who are lonely or forgotten, mainly shut-ins or people in care facilities with no relatives or friends to visit them. Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - It's time to Bag the Peaks once again and celebrate another release in their Fourteeners Series. This time the featured ale is Maroon Peak, a fruity, toffee-laden malt cushioned Red IPA. You can "summit" this peak this Friday, July 13th at Tap and Handle in Fort Collins beginning at 5:30pm. The tapping lasts until 7:30pm. Steve from Pateros Creek will be there to talk about this brew series and give away some schwag too.

High Hops Brew Shop (Windsor) - Homebrewers who are entering the homebrew competition at this years Gnarly Barley Beer Fest - a reminder that your homebrews are due to be dropped off no later than July 20th. High Hops is taking entries in Windsor. Located at: 6461 Hwy 392 in Windsor, CO. The Gnarly Barley Beer Fest will be held on August 4th at the Larimer Country Fair. Colorado Brewers Rendezvous (Salida) - Join the masses as they flock to Salida on July 14th for the 16th annual Colorado Brewers Rendezvous. 62 Breweries will be on hand pouring beers and the selection will be awesome. More info at their website.

International Beer Day (August 5th) - A worldwide celebration of beer - the drink, the culture, and the community. For all of you who love beer and are proud to show it - International Beer Day is coming. Have a brew at your favorite bar, at home, at your local brewery or where ever you like to enjoy a beer. Freshcraft (Denver) - Thirsty for something different? Freshcraft just tapped these last night: Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat Beer, Green Flash Saison Diego, and The Bruery Mischief. One of these are bound to give you something to like. Get their soon before they are tapped out.

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - In case you missed it yesterday, their Belgian IPA is now tapped! Stop by the brewery and try this new Belgian style IPA - built at 45 IBUs, it's their bitterest beer yet. Located at: 1900 E. Lincoln in FoCo.

Breckenridge Beer Festival (Breckenridge) - If you're planning to attend the beer fest this weekend just realize this - the pre-sale of mugs ends Friday July 13th at Noon! Buy early and save $.

Tommyknocker LegendTommyknocker Brewery (Idaho Springs) - A new limited edition olde oaked brown ale is coming soon from Tommyknocker. It's called Legend, and it's made with maple syrup and weighs in at a hefty 10% ABV. The label describes it as follows: "From the brewers at Tommyknocker Brewery, we proudly present LEGEND. This Olde Oaked Brown Ale celebrates years of award-winning quality craftsmanship. Specially brewed and aged with toasted Hungarian Oak – once the most sought after wood used to build spectacular ships. A generous addition of Crystal, Munich and Chocolate malts, accentuated by a touch of pure maple syrup create a full-bodied beverage of epic stature, while a carefully selected blend of American hops rounds out the finishing malt sweetness. Lone Tree Brewing (Lone Tree) - The guys at are hosting another Meet The Brewer series event. This time it's with brewer Jason Wiedmaier of Lone Tree Brewing. He'll be on hand at the Front Range BBQ - 2330 W. Colorado Avenue in Colorado Springs on Thursday, July 26th at 6:30pm. Taste some Lone Tree beers including some of their seasonals. More info at

Summer Brew Fest (Denver) - Time once again for the 5th annual Summer Brew Fest in Denver. This year it's on Friday July 27th from 7pm to 10pm. The fest happens at 2027 West Lower Colfax Ave. in Denver, CO. VIP tickets can get in an hour early! There will be dozens of breweries pouring beers and live music playing for the entire event. Tickets available at Eventbrite for $30 General or $40 VIP.

Recent Label Approvals - The TTB recently approved some new labels for Colorado breweries. Included in the list is Trinity Brewing's Le Capataine Petite Bouddha Chardonnay Wine Barrel-aged Saison Regal, also Elevation Beer's Signal de Botrange Chardonnay Wine Barrel-aged Farmhouse Ale (Double Black Diamond Series), and two from Avery Brewing - Avery Summer's Day IPA and Avery Winter's Day IPA (tap only). Look for these in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Great American Beer Festival (Denver) - New this year at the GABF - the Brewpub Pavillion. In a message shared by the GABF today they stated: "When’s the last time you visited your local brewpub? It should be pretty easy to find one, considering that three-quarters of the more than 2,000 U.S. breweries are considered brewpubs. To celebrate this growing tradition of locally brewed beers enjoyed straight from the source, the 2012 Great American Beer Festival will feature a Brewpub Pavilion, located in the central area of the festival hall. The Brewpub Pavilion will include approximately 20 breweries representing all regions of the country and will be set up to recreate the brewpub atmosphere that craft beer enthusiasts from all over enjoy. Stay tuned for more details on this new addition to the festival." - The GABF happens this year on October 11th through the 13th at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CO. Tickets go on sale end of July and early August.

Avery Brewing (Boulder) - On Sunday, August 5th, Avery Brewing will be celebrating their 19th birthday and host a birthday bash at the brewery from 12pm to 5pm. Come for the beer, some barbeque and live music. Tickets will go on sale online starting July 13th at 9pm.

The Mayor of Old Town (Fort Collins) - Has it been a year already? The Mayor is officially celebrating their 1 Year Anniversary with a party on Sunday, July 15th starting at 7:00pm. They'll be putting up some special kegs on tap just for the occasion including some Russian River Supplication, Odell Bourbon Barrel Stout and other treats. Get there early at it's going to be busy that day.

Old Chicago (I-25+Woodmen Co. Springs) - tonight from 6pm to 8pm they are hosting their World Beer Tour Kick Off Party. There you will be able to get discounted Springs Beer Fest Tickets for $15 for World Beer Tour Members and $10 for Military (with valid Military ID). This Old Chicago along with numerous other residents in the Northwest Colorado Springs area were suddenly evacuated for the Waldo Canyon Fire...therefore, Old Chicago is hosting their seasonal Kickoff Party Tonight, with Beer, Brats, and Games. A raffle benefiting the Waldo Canyon Fire Charities will be held for some fun prizes.
