Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Get Out of the Doghouse Day. If you happen to be in trouble with someone you love, today's your day. It's like a "Get Out of Jail Free" card and today's your day for a reprieve. Be careful though, a spouses memory tends to be long and you won't be out of the doghouse for long. Perhaps you should do something to make up for whatever your trouble your in for. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, July 16th, 2012.

Whew! What a weekend that was! Sooo many beer festivals and events going on. Which one did you attend? Did you get a chance to meet any brewers, retailers or distributors and thank them for all they do? Be sure to let them know how much you appreciate all their work.

Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - National Left-Handed Day is Monday, August 13th and Euclid Hall will partner with Left Hand Brewing Co for a very left-handed four-course dinner paired with beers from Left Hand. Tickets are on sale now at Euclid Hall for $50 including tax and gratuity. Sinistrophobics will not feel welcome but righties can come too.

Keg Tossing - What better thing to do on a hot summer day than to compete in a keg tossing competition! Here is the highlight of the winning keg toss at the Indiana Microbrewers Festival in Indianapolis on July 14, 2012 that Fermentedly Challenged was in attendance. The guys threw a big full sized (empty) keg and the ladies tossed a 5-gallon corney keg. Think you could do better than this guy? Aspen Beer Company (Aspen) - For those of you heading up to Aspen during the week here's a suggestion for you - why not attend the Beermaker vs. Winemaker Dinner at Justice Snow's Restaurant and Bar. This event will feature five rounds of head-to-head pairings from Aspen Brewing Company and Chronic Cellars. Each course will be paired with one selection from each producer with expert insights about the vintages and brews. Guests select the evening's victor. This happens on July 18th at 7pm. Cost is $75 per person. Located at: wheeler Opera House, corner of Mill Street and Hyman Avenue in Aspen, CO. Call 970-429-8192 for reservations.

Hops & Berries (Fort Collins) - The Hops & Berries homebrew shop is hiring!! Full-time position available immediately, pay dependent on experience. Passionate about homemade beer and wine? Oskar Blues (Longmont) - This Saturday, July 21st at the Tasty Weasel Tap Room stop by and join in Oskar Blues' Down n' Dirty Crawfish Boil. It's happening between 5pm and 8pm and it's all you can eat family-style on the patio. Live music from Zydeco and some special firkins available to boot. Cost is $12.99 beer not included in ticket price.

Kyle's Brew FestBoulder Beer Company (Boulder) - One of Boulder's best brew & music fests is coming back this year - it's Kyle's Brew Fest on Saturday July 28th from 3pm to 7pm. It's all happening at Boulder Beer Company. Tickets are $25 and proceeds benefit Conscious Alliance - Art That Feeds. Live performance by Kyle Hollingsworth Band. Over 30+ breweries and 60+ craft beers will be pouring. Tix available at the brewery.

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - Saturday, July 21st, CKBC will be releasing their Oak Aged Imperial Stout! That's right... an imperial stout in the middle of the summer. A jet black stout aged with oak spirals for a smooth and earthy finish. Pete Stein will be back on guitar playing for you and The Harvest Food truck with his fresh local fare. Tap Release: 12:00-10:00 PM. Harvest Food Truck: 5:00-9:00 PM. Pete Stein: 6:00-9:00 PM.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Fort Collins) - Even though the expansion work has started, the brewery still needs support on their Community Funded project - especially if you want somewhere to sit in the new space! They've upgraded their Giftbacks on CommunityFunded, so take a look, share with everyone you know, and help your community brewery grow!

Fort Collins Brewery Imperial Rye IPAThe Fort Collins Brewery (Fort Collins) - Now available, the 6th in their Incredible Hop series release - Fort Collins Brewery Imperial Rye IPA. Michael Blaschak was the brewer behind this release and he was on hand at the brewery on July 13th touting the wonders of this wonderful Rye brew. His love of rye in making bread was his inspiration from this hoppy beer. It's a combination of old world grain and new world style and offers a nutty flavor with the fresh aroma of hops.
