High Hops Brewery (Windsor) - The new brewery facility is nearly complete. High Hops just updated their Facebook page with a photo of the completed exterior of their brewhouse. The equipment is in and things are moving along. Look for them to do a grand opening early this fall. Stop by their homebrew shop and check out the view from their upcoming taproom. The Hop Harvest is quickly approaching. Look for news on when the hops will be gathered as they will be needing volunteers once again this year.

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - Saturday (July 28th) is Meat Head Night at CKBC. Bacon AND Beer in ONE! They smoked 15 lbs of locally produced bacon and added it to a Scottish Brown Ale base. Don't be afraid of this one, the bacon flavor is just for a very mild smoked flavor. Very mellow bacon flavor. As a side treat, add to that some fresh bacon and maple syrup ice cream! The tap release is from 12pm to 1pm. At 5pm-?? the ice cream will be served until gone. Outside get some Sully's Pizza Truck from 5pm to 9pm. It all happens Saturday!

New Belgium (Fort Collins) - There's a firkin in the Liquid Center today - Shadow of the Foeder. Reportedly delicious and worth trying at least once. Tapped and waiting for you now.

Avery Brewing (Boulder) - It's finally under cap, behind glass and in a case and it's barely enough to contain The Beast (Grand Cru that is). A small number of tickets remain for his release party on Wednesday, August 1st! If you can't join them there, then keep your eyes on the shelves and bars for this annual arrival!

Asher Brewing Company (Boulder) - This year's hop crop over at Niwot Hops is looking amazing right now and soon it'll be time for a fresh hop beer. The hops are coming in early this year so be looking for it in the tap room in the very near future. Some crops are being harvested as early as this weekend.

Big Choice Brewing (Broomfield) - This Saturday, July 28th, Big Choice will be hosting a fund raising event to support For every beer sold that day after 4pm - $1 will go towards the fight against breast cancer. Stop by and support this worthy cause.

They'll be giving away Rockies tickets, hosting some lively Cornhole matches, offering up special Odell Brewing beer tappings, and offering up some great Pint Specials. It's hot, so come cool down with some great Odell brews.

Rockyard Brewing Company (Castle Rock) - Brew Kjell (Jellyman) has once again come up with one of his unusual "Deviations" or one-off brews that they'll be tapping at 4pm today. Stop in to try their "Smokey Treat", it's a hand-smoked malt ale with low hops, mild smoke and with a bit of an acidic tang. Located at: 880 Castleton Road in Castle Rock, CO.

Great American Beer Festival (Denver) - Thanks to Jonathan Shikes of Westword for hand counting all of the Colorado breweries that will be attending the 2012 GABF this year so wouldn't have to. There will be 87 Colorado breweries (out of 140+) pouring anywhere from 2 to 10 different beers at their stations. And of those 87 breweries, 12 of them are new to the GABF and/or Colorado this year.
