Kdubbs Hop Farm (Wheat Ridge) - Another hop farm has "cropped" up on the horizon. Kdubb Hop Farm is located just outside of Denver in the town of Wheat Ridge. This 11 acre site grows hops on a 1/4 acre section. They grow Cascade, Centennial and Zeus hops and are now in their 2nd year of growing and will experience their first hop harvest in the coming days. They are selling their harvest to local home brewers and also to local breweries such as Strange Brewing Company and a few others. More local hops means more local hoppy beers! Echo Brewing Company (Frederick) - Looking for a dark hoppy brew? You're in luck. Stop by Echo Brewing on Friday, August 3rd for the release of Nocturnal - a double black IPA. It weighs in at 9.5% ABV and has about 100 IBU - so watch out! Not for the timid.

Go Cup Law (Greeley) - For the last two months on Friday nights, the downtown area of Greeley transforms into an open container liquor zone via Go Cups. The big success of this new law is prompting Denver officials now to meet with the City of Greeley to explore this further and hopes to bring the same thing to Larimer Square in Denver. This Go-Cup policy has attracted a lot of people and business sales downtown is up. This success is prompting a new restaurant to come to Greeley called "The Greeley Chophouse". This restaurant is associated with the 4th Street Chophouse in Loveland, CO. View the 7News video on this story here.

New Belgium (Fort Collins) - Seems like the folks over at New Belgium plant in charge of social media had some time on their hands and put out a short 1-minute video about their new Red Hoptober seasonal beer that's available now in stores. Check out the video below, or if you can't see it, head to YouTube and watch it.

Great American Beer Festival (Denver) - Tickets went on sale this morning for the AHA Members only session for Saturday October 13th, but according to the GABF officials, Ticketmaster was having issues with their "terms & conditions" and had been causing problems with completing ticket sales earlier today. They fixed the issue and tickets sold out in less than 2 hours for that session. AHA Members who tried early to get their tickets may wish to call Ticketmaster to confirm that they either did or did not get their tickets purchased. The mobile site for GABF tix was shutdown due to the inability to put in member numbers in the order. General Admission tickets for non-AHA members go on sale August 2nd at 10am MDT. Hopefully all of these sales issues won't be repeated. Expect a TON of people to hit the ticket site on Thursday when it opens. GABF tickets sold out last year in just a week and may sell out this year in a day or two. Read more about this ticket-interuptus here.
