GABF (Denver) - At 10:00am MDT today, the remainder of the General Admission tickets for the 2012 Great American Beer Festival went on sale. It didn't take long for every single ticket to be completely SOLD OUT. Hope you got your tickets early! The Brewer's Association announced around 10:45am that they were officially out of tickets. Also, in case you missed it yesterday, Ticketmaster officially issued a "letter of apology" to AHA-BA members for the ticket snafu that happened on July 31st for the Members Only Pre-sale. Time will tell if the Brewer's Association will retain Ticketmaster to handle next year's ticket sales. For a commentary on today's record ticket sell-out, check the article "Scalpers ruining GABF ticket sales?".

Big Beaver Brewing (Loveland) - On Friday (8/3), Big Beaver will be releasing the Washington Whizzer. This is a 100% domestic ingredient beer, made with hops and malted barley grown in Washington State. The Whizzer is brewed with only Falconer’s Flight™, an exclusive proprietary blend of highly desirable aromatic and flavor hops that are grown in Washington. This beer will be rotating with the Screw the Pooch Pale Ale. Also, Big Beaver will now be maintaining two rotating taps, which will feature 1-2 new beers a month! If you fall in love with one, it will probably reappear based on how popular it was.

Upslope Brewing (Boulder) - On Friday the 13th last month, the Upslope brewers were compelled to brew something a little different; a beer out of the ordinary. They decided a Black Lager was appropriate. "Witches Brew" as it was dubbed around the brewery, is a smooth dark lager with a bit of roast in the background (and some Friday the 13th inside of course). They'll be tapping the first keg next week in the tap room. Also, their back patio is now open! Bring out the family to enjoy a beer while playing some summer games in the back of the brewery on Fridays and Saturdays.

High Hops Harvest Fest (Windsor) - High Hops (hop farm and homebrew shop) is going to host their 2nd annual High Hops Harvest Fest later this month. They'll have prizes, free hops, food and beer! Hops & Pie (Denver) - Tomorrow, Friday August 3rd at 6pm, Hops & Pie will tap a firkin of Hopulent IPA from Epic Brewing. This batch of Hopulent IPA has an added dose of Centennial & Chinook hops to give the nose a super boost of citrus wile adding to the overall bitterness. Then it was high krausened with Brainless Belian Golden Ale. Come try some of this 9% ABV brew while it lasts on Friday.

Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - Tomorrow at 12 noon, Loveland Aleworks will release their new American Stout. It's billed as a very drinkable, dry stout with moderate hop bitterness, and a delicate roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Try one and enjoy it on their 4th Street patio.
