Gnarly Barley Beer Festival (Loveland) - Another great turn-out for the Gnarly Barley. The people have voted and the People Choice Awards results are in! First Place went to Grimm Brothers Brewhouse of Loveland for the 3rd straight year. Second place (and the longest lines) went to upcoming brewer Black Bottle Brewery of Fort Collins. And Third Place went to the new brewery Loveland Aleworks, another local favorite. Grats to these breweries and for all the other breweries who participated in the event this year. De Steeg Brewing (Denver) - Hey Denver - look out for another brewery coming your way to the Highland area. Craig Rothgery plans to open De Steeg Brewing at 4342 Tennyson Street and is targeting a December 2012 opening. They just signed a lease at the end of July and are now finalizing Federal and city approvals. They will open with a small 1.25 barrel brewhouse and have four 2.5 barrel fermenters in their facility along with a small tasting room.

Crabtree Brewing (Greeley) - The move is ON! Their old tasting room in Greeley is now closed and the new tasting room will be open in just two days! The new place is located at 2961 29th Street in Greeley, Colorado and is situated between the IHOP restaurant and the Harley Davidson dealer. This move will be the first phase in moving the entire brewery to that facility. The brewhouse will remain at the old facility until sometime in 2013 when it will be moved to the new location as well. Look for an outdoor beer garden and an attached homebrew shop to be part of the new facility.

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - The "A Night to Remember" event held over the weekend helped to raise money in memory of Alex Teves raised over $8,692. Thanks to all who participated and donated in his honor. Alex's mug and photo rest on a shelf at Copper Kettle as a memorial to their Mug Club member at Copper Kettle.

Tommyknocker Brewery (Idaho Springs) - Halloween may still be about 3 months away, but that didn't stop Tommyknocker from releasing their seasonal Small patch Pumpkin Harvest Ale this week. Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - Join in this Sunday, August 12th as Twisted Pine hosts a benefit for The Puppy Rescue Mission! They'll be donating 10% of sales, hosting Brewery Olympics and a silent auction with lots of great items from their friends in the community, including tickets to the sold out GABF!

River North Brewery (Denver) - Over at River North, they're making some changes! They're changing their Wednesday special tapping to "Wayward Wednesday" to offer you more options. In addition to their barrel-aged releases, River North will now occasionally offer experimental variations of existing River North beers. This will allow them to offer a greater variety of rare tappings, and allow you the chance to taste how subtle variations in the brewing process affect beers made with the same recipe.
