Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Night Out Day. This evening event has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in the fight for a safer nation. BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse (Boulder) - A move has been in the works for months and now the time is almost here. BJ's is moving out of their old place on Pearl Street and is planning to open a new place at 1690 28th Street in Boulder. The restaurant and brewing operations will be moved into this new location and a ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for August 24th at 11:00am with an official opening on August 27th. The location will seat 272 people in the 7800 square foot facility. BJ's will continue to produce beer for its other Colorado restaurants out of this new location.

West Flanders Brewing Company (Boulder) - When BJ's moves out of their old location, West Flanders will be moving in at 1125 Pearl Street in Boulder. The new brewpub is currently hiring employees to staff them up for a September 2012 opening. Brian Lutz is the new brewmaster at West Flanders and will serve up both Belgian and American style craft beers. Look for more announcements from them as they get closer to an opening date. Winter Park Beer Festival (Winter Park) - One of several beer festivals this coming weekend will be held up at Winter Park on Saturday, August 11th from 12pm to 5pm in the downtown Hideaway Park area. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate and include unlimited 5oz tastes. There will be live music and beer from 25+ breweries including Grand Lake Brewing Company (a local brewery). VIP access also available.

New Belgium (Fort Collins) - Grats go out to New Belgium for being named #5 in Outside Magazine's 30 Best Places to Work list for 2012. This list comprised of all kinds of businesses. New Belgium was the only brewery in the country to make the top 30 list. Outside also listed an additional 70 Top places to work and Avery Brewing of Boulder came in at #49 and Full Sail Brewing of Oregon came in at #55. Check out the full list here.

J Wells Brewery (Boulder) - Sometimes it takes much longer than anticipated before all the necessary paperwork gets approved. The new upcoming Boulder nano-brewery is anxiously awaiting final Federal approval this week. And the state of Colorado has their paperwork in hand but it will take them between 60 to 90 days to even get to looking at it as there are over 249 other approvals waiting ahead of theirs. So it will be at least until early October at the earliest that this brewery will be able to open its doors.

Avery Brewing (Boulder) - Tickets for the premier beer pairing event during GABF are now available! The Midnight Breakfast will go down on Thursday, October 11th starting at 11pm, and feature the decadence of chef Jorel Pierce's creations paired with some of Avery's rare and tasty brews. Tickets are limited, so book yours now to join them at Euclid Hall for this mind-blowing carnival of the palate! www.brownpapertickets.com/event/264991. Tickets cost $99 plus service fees. Just over 70 tickets remain as of 10:30am MDT today.

Bristol Brewing Company (Colorado Springs) - Tonight between 5pm - 9pm it's Karma Hour. $1 from every pint of beer sold during that time will go to benefit PEAK Parent Center. Stop by to help out this worthy local cause.

Tommyknocker Brewery (Idaho Springs) - If you like Tommyknocker beer, you'll probably love their Tommyknocker Beer Brats! Tommyknocker Brewery has teamed up with Continental Sausage of Denver, Colorado to produce packages of fully cooked bratwurst made with Tommyknocker Butthead Bock. They are available in Colorado wherever Continental Sausage products are sold.

Fall Beer Classic (Denver) - Mark your calendars for a new beer festival being organized by the Colorado Craft Beer Show radio guys on Saturday, September 29th, 2012. It's to be a street festival that spotlights fall seasonal craft beers. Breweries will compete against each other in this fest with an awards ceremony, Skins game, music and food plus some really great beers all benefitting Pints for Prostates. There will even be some fun-style gambling where you can "bet" on your favorite breweries to win. Stay tuned for details. See their Facebook page for upcoming announcements.

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - Good at trivia? Join in at Twisted Pine tonight between 6:30pm to 8:30pm out on their patio. Tory Leviton will host. It's free to play and you can win some great prizes. Tonight it's Live Music Trivia. Enjoy some great beer while you play.

Fall Festival of Beers & Chili Cook-off (Mt. Crested Butte) - Want to win 2 FREE tickets to the Beer and Chili Festival on September 8th in Mt. Crested Butte? Head to their Facebook page and "Like" their post on the free tickets. A winner will be drawn from the list of "Likers".
