Here's more of what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, August 8th, 2012. More news being added to this page throughout the day til 3:00pm MDT. Avery Brewing Company (Boulder) - A reminder - The Kaiser has returned!! At 5pm today at the brewery, Avery employees will don their traditional Bavarian regalia to celebrate the annual brewing of their intrepid Imperial Oktoberfest with schnitzel sandwiches, pretzels with dipping sauces, and good ol' Bratwursts! Come join them for the return of our beloved Dictator of Ale!

Dry Dock Brewing Company (Aurora) - Curious as to what will be the special firkin this Friday at Dry Dock? How about this! It's a Citrus Spiced Blonde ale and it's set to tap at 3:00pm at the main tasting room today. Do you like Seasonal beers? Try their Extra Pale Summer Ale, the Queen Mary Spiced Blond Ale or the Crooked Shillelagh Irish Red Ale. All on tap now. In other news, they signed the papers on the purchase of the new production facility at 2801 Tower Road on August 1st and construction at the new place is under way.

Southern Sun (Boulder) - August is the month to go big and complete that summer bucket list. The folks at the Southern Sun brewery are going big with you. Mother Lode Imperial Pilsner Lager is now on tap and Vagabond IPA is expected on tap by the weekend. Today they're brewing a stout: MEGATRON Imperial American stout! They also have White Fawn coming this month. A pleasantly hopped, refreshing, American wheat beer. Also this month marks the return of Big Krane Kolsch. August is good.

Colorado Brewers Guild (SOCIAL) - CBG's Steve Kurowski will be guest bar tending from 4-7pm today at Denver Beer Company in Denver. It's all about SOCIAL (Supporter of Colorado Indigenous Ale and Lagers). SOCIAL members, you get $1 of your first pint. Not a SOCIAL member yet? You can join today at Denver Beer Co.

Oskar Blues and Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - Business is booming in Longmont. The Longmont Times Call did a video and an article about how the breweries are managing growth in their area. The video features Left Hand Brewing's President Eric Wallace.

Pateros Creek Brewing Company (Fort Collins) - History was made today at Pateros Creek as they did their first ever packaging run and put their Cache La Porter beer into cans. Pateros Creek Brewing utilized a portable canning line courtesy of Mobile Canning, LLC of Longmont to get the job done. Look for cans of Cache La Porter to hit local shelves in the coming weeks. Backcountry Brewery (Frisco) - Things about about to get busy in the packaging department at Backcountry Brewery judging from the latest label approvals from the TTB, Backcountry Brewery is about to put out four beers in bottles in the near future including: Backcountry Porter, Backcountry Pilsner, Backcountry Amber Ale, and Backcountry Pale Ale. Soon these will be making their way into 12oz bottles.

Upslope Brewing Company (Boulder) - Two new Limited Release beers will be heading your way during the upcoming Fall and Holiday seasons. Upslope is making plans to can their Upslope Pumpkin Ale and also their Upslope Christmas Ale. The TTB just approved the can labels for these two beers. Stay tuned on possible upcoming release dates for these beers.

Gravity Brewing (Louisville) - It's official. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 8th for their grand opening event. Keep in mind that they will likely be open a week or two before then, but either way Louisville is about to get a new brewery! Check them out on the web at:
