Colorado Beer News 080812

Colorado Beer NewsToday is Happiness Happens Day. Started back in 1999, this day aims to spread the joy of being happy and to persuade people to look on the brighter side of life. Kinda reminds me of a certain Monty Python song. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, August 8th, 2012.

Colorado Beer News is continually updated during the day (10am to 3pm) with new stories as they break from newsletters, emails and social media sites, so stop back here often for all the latest. If you'd like to subscribe to this daily by email, sign-up here.

Colorado Boy Brewery (Ridgway) - If you happen to have a growler from Colorado Boy sitting around your home being unused, consider returning it to the brewery. They are looking for growlers in good condition. They will give you $2 in credit or cash if you return them. Help out others who are looking for a growler there - let others re-use them! (web site) - Have you heard about this new web site?'s goal is to make it easier for beer-lovers to find and visit new and favorite breweries alike. Their site contains a comprehensive listing of all the breweries and brewpubs in the United States that offer tours and tastings. Given the explosive nature of craft brewing in the U.S. over the past twenty to thirty years, they felt that there was an untapped opportunity in promoting beer tourism. Many areas have a thriving wine tourism industry, and it seems to be a natural evolution to try and do the same thing with beer tourism. Check them out. (Fermentedly Challenged's note: some newer breweries aren't on their lists yet and some that just opened are listed as in development. Updates can be emailed to
