Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Radio Day. While this old medium of communication may not be quite as popular as it used to be, radio still has a dominant presence in modern society. Even craft beer has a presence on the radio. Colorado alone has at least three weekly radio shows dedicated to it. Turn on the radio today and find something worth listening to. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, August 20th, 2012.

Pikes Peak Brewing (Monument) - Want to help brew a Wet Hop brew? Stop by Pikes Peak Brewing on Saturday, September 1st from 12pm to 2pm. They will be brewing up the Wet Hop version of their American the Pale. They will have fresh bines from their new Monument hop farm - The Twisted Bine. You get to pick the hops and then add them to their brew. Brewery located at: 1756 Lake Woodmoor Drive in Monument, CO.

High Hops Hop Farm (Windsor) - It's Hop Harvest Time! Join in on Sunday, August 26th for the 2nd annual hop harvest at the Windor Gardener from noon to 5 pm. There will be prizes for best costume and most hops picked by a 2-person team. Then from 5-6 pm there will be free beer and food for the hop pickers. Live music throughout the day.

New Belgium Brewing (Ft. Collins) - New Belgium Brewing’s Tour de Fat comes to Crested Butte for the Crested Butte Last Sprint Block Party in the historic downtown of Crested Butte today at 6:00pm. This block party is the kick off for the USA Pro Challenge Stage 2 race through Crested Butte and up to Mt. Crested Butte which takes place the following day on Tuesday, August 21. Elk Avenue, between 2nd and 3rd will be closed for the celebration at 6 p.m. tonight, so bring your townie and costume to this fun-packed evening! New Belgium and Avery Breweries will be on hand for refreshments. Live music from Coral Creek Band and local DJs from KBUT Community Radio will be there for entertainment. Music, food and fun games for all ages. Come join in as they kick of the 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge!

Pateros Creek Brewing Company (Fort Collins) - Their fundraising effort on has just a few days left and they still need your help! Check out the video below to see the plans they have for their expansion.

Parry's Pizza & Bar (Highlands Ranch) - Get out your calendars. There are a couple big events coming to Parry's Pizza in the next few weeks. On Saturday, August 25th Parry's will be hosting a Boulder Beer Pint Night. Buy a beer, get some glass. It’s simple. And when Boulder Beer Co. is in town for this event, that means you buy a great beer and get a pint glass to keep. Then on Saturday, September 15th it's an Oskar Blues Tap Takeover from 11am to 11pm. A big percentage of their 50 beer taps will be pouring special offerings from Oskar Blues. It's an event not to miss!

Bristol Brewing Company (Colorado Springs) - Coming up this Wednesday, August 22nd at the brewery tasting room at 1647 S. Tejon in the Springs, Bristol Brewing is releasing their Belgian series beers in 750ml corked bottles. From 5pm to 9pm, come sample their Belgian Dubbel and Belgian Tripel. Try before you buy! After the party, these beers will only be available in bottles. They will also have specially selected cheeses available to pair with each of the Belgians, provided by Blue Sage Catering.

Great American Beer Festival (Denver) - Want to know more about what's coming up at this year's GABF? The Brewer's Association posted a new Press Release today about new features at this year's big beer fest at the Colorado Convention Center.

Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - Hey, believe it or not, it's Oktoberfest season and the first of the new Oktoberfest brews are now being released. Check out the latest stats on Left Hand Brewing's returning seasonal favorite - Oktoberfest Märzen Lager. Available now.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - It was a busy weekend. ABC was pouring at two festivals over the weekend. The brewery just won "Best Happy Hour in Jeffco" and in honor of that they have decided to extend Friday and Saturday happy hour until 7pm! Come enjoy $1 off all pints during that time. This Saturday, the guys from the Colorado Craft Beer Show return to the taproom for their weekly radio show. Come watch it live or listen on AM 760 in Denver from 12pm to 2pm.

River North Brewery (Denver) - starting TODAY, the taproom will be open 7 days a week! So now on any weekday, you can come unwind after work and enjoy happy hour until 6pm!

Oktoberfest in Colorado (Annual List) - The harvests are coming in, the weather is starting to cool, and towns and communities in Colorado are planning their Oktoberfests! The first celebration has already been set for August 25th and the 2012 Colorado Oktoberfest page has compiled a list of over 30 communities in the Centennial state that have Oktoberfest or harvest festivals planned. Check it out and visit one of more of these activites. Festivals run from late August through early October.
