Here's more of what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, August 31st, 2012. More news being added to this page throughout the day til 3:00pm MDT. Bonfire Brewing (Eagle) - "Gentlemen, Start Your Beards." The "Man of The Cliff" event in Red Cliff, CO is a bit over a month away, and so is their beer of the same name. Man of the Cliff, a Czech-style Pilsner, is coming to you soon, exclusively leading up to and during the event. Look for in in late September in 12oz cans and also on tap.

Pateros Creek Brewing Company (Ft. Collins) - Announcing Stevetoberfest 2012! On Saturday, September 22nd from 12pm to 9pm at the brewery - Pateros Creek will host their annual Stevetoberfest featuring live music from 5 local bands, two great food vendors and lots of beer - plus the release of Stevetoberfest 2012 beer! It will be a blast just like last year in the parking lot of Pateros Creek. New this year: Posters, T-shirts, and ALL people of age name Steve (and its derivatives lincluding Stphanie) get their first beer Free! This event coincides with FORToberfest in downtown Fort Collins that same weekend.

New Belgium Brewing (Fort Collins) - In the aftermath of the local wildfires this summer, the Poudre River water has been tainted with ash and soot causing the water to take on a smokey flavor. New Belgium is being affected by this and has had to resort to using reserve water supplies. However, they are being asked to soon stop using that reserve leaving them with the possibility of smokey flavored water in the beer. Denver's 9News did a story about this on their news last night. Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - Ever wonder if the world is running out of unique names for brewers to call their beer? Get a load of this name, Twisted Pine will soon release a beer called - Lupuliopheliac Fresh Hop Pale Ale. This will be their October Artisan Ale Project beer. Look for it come the start of October in 750ml black glass bottles.

Beer School at the Rackhouse PubRackhouse Pub (Denver) - Has anyone told you that you could use some additional education? How about some Liquid Education - beer school that is and during the week of GABF, October 9-12, 2012 you can get schooled at The Rackhouse Pub in Denver. During the week of the Great American Beer Festival, the Rackhouse Pub wants to educate you as much as they can. That’s why they’re bringing you Liquid Education, 4 days of beer school at the Rackhouse Pub from October 9-12, 2012. They’ve lined up some heavy hitters in the beer industry to school you in many areas of brewing, and drinking. All events are ticketed, capped at 60 participants, and are held at the Rackhouse Pub at 208 South Kalamath Street, Denver, Colorado, 80223. October 9th - Sensory Training 101 with Gwen Gonley, Lost Abbey. October 10th - Yeast 101 with Ro Guenzel of Left Hand Brewing and Neva Parker of White Labs. October 11th - Hops 101 - with Kevin DeLange of Dry Dock Brewing and Justin Livengood of Brewers Supply Group. And October 12th - Sours 101 with Andy Parker of Avery Brewing, Troy Casey of AC Golden and Chad Yakobsen of Crooked Stave. More info here.

Bull & Bush Pub & Brewery (Denver) - As of 5pm yesterday, the beer started flowing once again at the Bull & Bush Brewery. While the kitchen is still getting it's face lift, the power is on and the new floors are in, so come on by for a beverage and a snack from some of Denver's best food trucks. They will also be resuming their 41 beers in 41 days starting today. Check the website for the updated schedule. Oktoberfest in Colorado (Annual List) - The harvests are coming in, the weather is starting to cool, and towns and communities in Colorado are planning their Oktoberfests! The first celebrations have already begun and the 2012 Colorado Oktoberfest page has compiled a list of over 30 communities in the Centennial state that have Oktoberfest or harvest festivals planned. Check it out and visit one of more of these activites. Festivals run from late August through early October.
