Lost Caravan offers fans chance at GABF tickets

Lindsay Meredith of Lost Caravan[PRESS RELEASE] August 24, 2012 – Denver, CO – After the fastest sellout in the Great American Beer Festival’s 31-year history, Coloradans and beer lovers everywhere are scrambling for tickets for this popular event. In minutes, all 49,000 tickets to this premier beer festival were snatched up, leaving many beer lovers empty-handed. While locals might adopt the, “better luck next year” approach, many travelers planning vacations around the event, weren’t so lucky.

Websites such as Stubhub and Craigslist have a handful of tickets for sale, but with prices averaging around $250,versus $65 face value, it puts a financial stain on just about everyone. But, where there is demand, supply will inevitably arise and this is no exception. Local radio station, KBCO, and beer-centric website are both offering up a chance at winning tickets for fans that “like” their Facebook page.

However, one of the more creative opportunities comes from the local gypsy rock band, Lost Caravan. They’ll be raffling of one pair of GABF tickets to a lucky fan in just a few weeks. To enter, all you have to do is simply visit their website,, or sign up at one of their upcoming shows.

The idea for the ticket giveaway came from lead singer, Lindsay Meredith. After buying tickets for a group of friends she ended up with two extra. Rather than resell them online, she decided to use the opportunity to show her appreciation to her fans, and possibly pick up a few more. “Yeah, I’m putting it out on our Facebook page and Twitter feed and so far the response from our fans has been great. I’m really hoping though that this will introduce our band to people who haven’t heard of us yet,” says Meredith.

The Lost Caravan plays what Meredith has coined, Gypsy Rock. “It’s a blend of pop rock and gypsy jazz,“ Meredith explained, “It’s got a catchy beat, is unique, and gets people on the floor”. Landing regular shows in the Front Range, and with a growing online and live fan base, the band has high hopes of putting this new musical style on the map. Their next gig is slated for Labor Day weekend at the Boulder Brew Fest which should give many Colorado beer lover’s an easy opportunity to sign up for a chance to win.
