Today we remember the tragedy of 9-11-2001 and honor those who lost their lives that day and those who served in the days following to help those in need and protect our country. Dad & Dude's Breweria (Aurora) - Today at 4:30 Dad & Dudes will have a tap takeover from Tommyknocker Brewery. They will feature 5 of their beers, including their fall seasonal Small Patch Pumpkin Harvest Ale. Buy a pint of any of their beers, and you'll get to keep the pint glass.

Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (Denver) - Have you stopped by their new tap room yet? Drop by at 1441 W. 46th Ave, Unit 19 in Denver and sample one or more of the following sour ales on tap: WWBB, WWBI, Vignole, Surette Reserva, L'Brett d'Or. Next up on tap will be their Petite Sour and Blackberry Petite Sour.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - Stop in for a beer and head outdoors and sip it on their new patio! They now have several tables waiting for you. Enjoy the warm weather while it lasts.

Parry's Pizzeria & Bar (Highlands Ranch) - Expect some barrel aged passion at an Oskar Blues Tap Takeover event at Parry's this Saturday, September 15th from 11am to 11pm. Oskar Blues is in the process of brewing some amazing beers for Parry's Pizza in preparation for this barrel of monkeys. Bring your mouths to the taste of this fine plethora of Oskar Blues delights: Nitro Gknight, Nitro Chub, Nitro Dales Pale Ale, Chaka, Homeskillet, Legends India Brown, Dave’s Pale Ale, Barrel Aged Chub, Barrel Aged Ten Fidy, Barrel Aged Gubna, Red Wine Barrel Aged Gknight, Chardonnay Wine, Mama’s Lil Yella Pils, Mama’s Lil Yella Pils, Deviant Dale’s, Gubna, and Ten Fidy. Don't miss this event! Located at 9567 S. University Blvd. in Highlands Ranch, CO.

Brewery Rickoli (Wheat Ridge) - The owners of the upcoming Brewery Rickoli (aka Rickoli's Craft Beer Bistro) made their presence known yesterday. They are deep in the process of trying to open a new brewery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado as early as October 2012. Their brewery will be located at 4335 Wadsworth Boulevard. They have plans for up to 8 beers on tap at the opening. Some of the beers include: Rickoli's Light (Cream Ale), Totally Eye-P-A (IPA), Rockstar Red, and an Amber Wheat Ridge ale. This business will eventually include a bistro as well, but they have no plans to have their food available initially, but they will open with a beer garden. Stay tuned for more on this new brewery soon.

Elevation Beer Company (Poncha Springs) - Here's something to look forward to! Today Elevation Beer Co is busy filling some bourbon barrels from Breckenridge Distillery for their upcoming Oil Man Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout. This beer will age for a few months and then be released this winter. More on this release as news arrive.

Great American Beer Festival (Denver) - The biggest beer festival in Colorado is officially just one month away today! Most Colorado breweries have been busy getting their contest beers ready and are shipping them off for the upcoming judging. Kegs of beer are now starting to be shipped to the convention center as well. It's going to be another big party in Denver this year. Hope you all got tickets. Start your beer endurance training now!

American Homebrewers Association (Colorado) - Just like one of those famous credit cards, membership in the AHA has its privileges. If you show your membership card at Echo Brewing Company in Frederick, you'll get Happy Hour prices anytime. And if you show your card at Loveland Ale Works in downtown Loveland, you'll be eligible for 10% off beer, growlers and merchandise (receive $10 credit after 10 purchases over $10). So what's in your wallet?

The Cheeky Monk Belgian Beer Cafe (Denver) - On Thursday, October 11, 2012 - be part of a special GABF celebration at the Cheeky Monk's Colfax location. It's the 2nd Annual Cheeky Challenge! Get a team together & compete against some of your favorite brewers! Each team will compete in fun but challenging games (think Krulbollen, Jenga & more). Followed by a special tapping of Saison du BUFF w/Stone, Dogfish Head & Victory. Sign up on your own or with a team ($20 per person/$70 team of 4). Register at www.thecheekymonk.com. All proceeds benefit the Colfax HALO Program.

Bull & Bush Brewery (Denver) - Their 41st anniversary celebration may be over, but they've got a special tapping today that sour beer lovers will enjoy. Stop on down for their famous fabulous Funky Cougar. On tap today. Come get Funky!

Voss Farms (Arvada) - Missed out on the hop harvest this year? You've got one last chance to help out. Voss Farms, the official hops supplier to Black Shirt Brewing, announces their 2012 Hop Picking Finale. There are 40 Nugget plants to pick this weekend then the hop yard is done for the year. They only need about 15 pickers to help finish it up. Please RSVP to vossfarmscolorado@yahoo.com if you are interested in being part of the final hop picking event. It's indoor and very social. Friday, September 14 6pm -10pm and also Saturday, September 15 9am- 3pm. Lunch will be served on Saturday ... snacks on Friday night. Get a taste of BSB's Red Ale, made with Voss Farms Willamette wet hops after you pick hops.

Avery Brewing Company (Boulder) - Originally brewed to celebrate Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009, Ale to the Chief is back again to commemorate the 2012 election! This Presidential Pale Ale weighs in at 8.5% abv, and is dry-hopped with the quintessential American Cascade hop! Avery will unveil their new brew delegate tomorrow, September 12th 5pm at the Avery Tap Room. Also, if you need to register to vote, update your voter registration, or sign up for mail-in ballot, you can from 4-7pm at the Tap Room! If you do one of these three options, they'll give you a complimentary pint!

Oktoberfest in Colorado (Annual List) - The harvests are coming in, the weather is starting to cool, and towns and communities in Colorado are planning their Oktoberfests! The first celebrations have already begun and the 2012 Colorado Oktoberfest page has compiled a list of over 30 communities in the Centennial state that have Oktoberfest or harvest festivals planned. Check it out and visit one of more of these activites. Festivals run from late August through early October.
