Colorado Beer NewsToday is World Water Monitoring Day. Nobody know better than craft brewers the importance of water in the world. Do what you can to help ensure that water in your area is preserved and stays clean. We'd all be in a lot of trouble if we'd ever run out of clean water. And besides, you can't make good beer without clean water. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Tuesday, September 18th, 2012.

Tivoli Distributing Company (Denver) - Risen from the ashes, this 2012 business has ressurected the old recipe from the old Tivoli Brewing Company and has contracted with Prost Brewing to produce Tivoli Helles. This beer is based on the 148 year old recipe of the beer that was made back in 1864. It is now available in select locations around Denver thanks to the cooperative effort with Prost Brewing. You can find this beer on tap at the following locations: Prost Brewing, Denver turnverein, The Stage Shop, City, O' City, Brewery Barrii, and Brasserie Ten Ten. This marks the first time since 1969 that Tivoli beer as been made in Denver. Visit them on the web at tivolibeer.com. AND - join them for a Tivoli Launch Party at Prost Brewing in Denver on tomorrow, September 19th from 5pm to close. German Band, German Food, Tivoli Beer!

Crystal Springs Brewing (Boulder) - Work continues in their quest to find a bigger brewing facility and also to open up a tasting room for this small production brewery. They have caught up with some of the expanding demand and are making their Doc's Porter available once again. This October, look for a very special release of their dark rum barrel aged porter. You'll also find a couple beers out there on tap that you've never seen before. They are at the restaurants around the Greater Boulder area that already server their beers.

Patrick's Irish Pub (Greeley) - Head over to Greeley tonight at Patrick's hosts a New Belgium Tap Takeover starting at 8:00pm. They'll have Tart Lychee, Red Hoptober, Cocoa Mole, Abbey Belgian Style Ale, Super India Pale Ale, Trippel and Shift (and possibly others). This is a great way to explore the world of New Belgium. Located at: 907 8th Avenue in Greeley, CO.

Hopped Up Dames (Ladies Beer Club) - The Hopped Up Dames are celebrating their 2nd anniversary as an organization. Since 2010 they have been bringing women together and having a great time and learning about great beer. They are inviting all ladies to join them at Strange Brewing Company in Denver on Saturday, October 6th at 1:00pm. Strange Brewing was one of their first breweries that they visited and they wish to return to where they started. Also, the Colorado Craft Beer Radio show will be on hand at Strange from 12pm to 2pm to help kick off Colorado Beer Week.

Rock Bottom Brewery (Denver) - Join in on Thursday, September 20th, for the tapping of their ROCKTOBERFEST Bier. It’s the kick-off to their annual ROCKTOBERFEST promotion, which means there’s a specialty menu to go along with this specialty beer. Tapping is at 6 pm and they'll serve a complimentary pint of ROCKTOBERFEST (to those 21 & over) until 6:30 pm. In addition to the tapping they'll also be handing out bite-size samples of their ROCKTOBERFEST menu. Their favorite thing about this menu and bier is it will help them raise money for their CraftWorks Foundation and their mission of combating hunger in their neighborhood. Rock Bottom will donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of their Rocktoberfest Bier and food items from their Rocktoberfest menu to that foundation. Eat and drink for a good cause!

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Pizza and Beer for Dinner! Ablaze Food Truck will be at the Taproom around 5:00 pm today with their amazing Wood Fired Pizza and some killer Sliders such as the Crab Slider and the Shrimp Slider. All that plus it's Ladies Night too. They're open 'til 8:00pm tonight. In other news, Grimm Brothers just received two new 30 barrel fermentation vessels and are already putting them to use. This means even more beer coming your way! And stay tuned for Grimm's Oktoberfest celebration coming up September 29th starting at 11am with this year's release of Farmer's Daughter Oktoberfest beer.

Wit's End Brewing (Denver) - Announcing the Wit's End 1 Year Anniversary Party on Saturday, September 29th from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. Business has been good and they are making plans to grow their operation over the coming months, but in the meantime they are wanting to celebrate their patrons and throw a party. Stop by and try some of their quality beers. Located at 2505 W. 2nd Ave, Unit 13 in Denver, CO.

Lone Tree Brewing Co (Lone Tree) - Come down to Lone Tree Brewing Company this Saturday, September 22nd from 11am to 10pm for their Oktoberfest Celebration. They'll be tapping their Oktoberfest bier, hosting live music, offering up some great food and fun. There will be Oktoberfest apparel and bier mass souvenirs for sale as well.

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - You may know their mainstay beers, but have you tried their specialty beers lately? Currently on tap: Country Pumpkin, Chai Wallah Watchman, Ol' One Eye Wheat, Dead or Alive Double IPA, and Fresh Hop 6 Shooter IPA. Coming up as part of their Fall releases are: Up All Night Watchman, El Johnway, and Oktoberfest. Look for those soon. Also, get ready for another Community Potluck at the taproom on Tuesday, September 25th starting at 6:00pm. Bring a dish to share. Good food, good beer and good company.

Two Rascals Brewing CompanyTwo Rascals Brewing Company (Montrose) - It's finally happening. Two Rascals will be opening their doors for business this Thursday, September 20th just in time for the Fall Equinox. Their big Grand Opening celebration will still take place October 26th and 27th, but they've got enough beer now and everything was ready so they've decided to open this week. The brewery, owned by two wildland firefighters Daniel and Brandon, is located at 147 North 1st Street in Montrose, CO. When they open, they plan to have a Scottish ale, a Wheat ale and an IPA on tap.

Elevation Beer Company (Poncha Springs) - Elevation Beer Company is announcing its first expansion just 4 months after opening its doors. The expansion will add two 60-barrel and one 30-barrel fermenters which will more than double brewing capacity at the brewery and includes the addition of a fully automated bottling line. Elevation was planning on producing between 500-700 barrels of beer in its first seven months of operation, but due to overwhelming demand the brewery is looking to break at least 1100 barrels in its first year. Elevation has already ramped up production on its next two releases; Downpour, a hoptastic Double India Red Ale, and Oil Man, an Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels from Breckenridge Distilling. Fate Brewing CompanyFate Brewing Company (Boulder) - Owner Mike Lawinski officially announced that Jeff Griffith will be the Head Brewer at the upcoming Fate Brewing Company. Jeff is the former Head Brewer for Golden City Brewery. Jeff specializes in recipe development and has spent the past eight years producing award-winning craft brews, earning over 30 medals in multiple categories from competitions such as the North American Beer Awards. Fate Brewing Company is scheduled to open its 7,000 square-foot restaurant and brewery at 1600 38th Street, Suite 100 in Boulder, Colorado in the fall of 2012. Fate will be a full-service restaurant and full production brewery producing five core beers, numerous special releases and partnered efforts. Founder Mike Lawinski began his career with the Big Red F in 2002 and has a wide-ranging knowledge in the restaurant and craft beer industry.

Oktoberfest in Colorado (Annual List) - The harvests are coming in, the weather is starting to cool, and towns and communities in Colorado are celebrating Oktoberfest! The 2012 Colorado Oktoberfest page has compiled a list of over 30+ communities in the Centennial state that have Oktoberfest or harvest festivals planned. Festivals run from late August through early October.
