Colorado Beer NewsOh Ya! Today is National Punch Day. Punch is typically made by mixing fruit juice with other ingredients, sometimes including something alcoholic (aka spiking the punch). If you're like me, I'd rather prefer a craft beer over punch. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, September 20th, 2012.

The Pub Dialogues (Discussion Group) - Another installment of the Pub Dialogues is set for Monday October 1st at Dry Dock Brewing Company from 6:15pm to 8:00pm. The Pub Dialogues is a free public series by OvalOptions that brings people together in local breweries and pubs to discuss topics of social importance face-to-face. Facilitators will keep discussions on topic, civil and engaging. This is a great way to voice your opinions and learn why others have different viewpoints. It's time to get off the Internet and into the pub! Dry Dock is located in south Aurora at 15120 E. Hampden Ave (Hampden and Chambers), serves popcorn and great beer. Outside food is permitted. This session's topic will be "Political Campaigns: Good, Bad and Ugly". More info here.

Hops & Pie (Denver) - Don't forget, coming up on Saturday, September 29th - it's Hops & Pie's birthday! And to celebrate, they are throwing a day of Avery Beer Awesomeness starting at noon and running til close. They will have at least 14 different rare or hard to find Avery Brewing beers on tap and from bottles. Try out some rare selections and enter drawings for free schwag, beer, club memberships and other cool stuff. Hops & Pie is located at: 3920 Tennyson Street in Denver, CO.

American Craft Beer Radio (102.3 + 105.5 FM Denver) - Drop by this Saturday at Davidsons Liquors in Highlands Ranch, as Davidsons will be giving away two pair of tickets to this year's GABF. One pair from the regular entry box and a second pair drawn from a separate entry for people who are present for the rare beer tasting and the live broadcast of American Craft Beer Radio. It all starts Saturday at noon and they go live at 1:00pm on 102.3 and 105.5 FM ESPN.

High Hops Brewery (Windsor) - Their new business hours are now posted for Windsor's new brewery. They will be open Wed. and Thurs. 12pm to 7pm, Fridays 12pm to 8pm, Saturdays 12pm - 7pm, and Sundays 12pm - 5pm. Come sit on their patio and enjoy a sunset over the mountains while sipping a beer brewed using their hops grown on location. They have tasters and pints available in the 'Hop Hut' as well as growlers to fill and take home. Park in the Windsor Gardener parking lot and enter through the front door or walk around the SW corner of the building to the patio and enter the Hop Hut directly. 2012 GABF is just 3 Weeks away!

West Flanders Brewing Co (Boulder) - On Friday September 21 they will host a soft opening event to benefit Community Food Share, a local non-profit dedicated to eliminating hunger in the Boulder community. Tickets are $20 and include an entree, appetizer or salad, and two West Flanders beers or one specialty cocktail. To make a reservation please email or call 303-447-2739. To attend you will need to pay in advance and will receive a reservation for a specific time. Located in the old BJ's Pizza location at 1125 Pearl Street in Boulder, CO. The grand opening will be on Monday, September 24th.

Ska Brewing (Durango) - Don't forget to join in this Friday from 5pm to 7pm for the release of Ska's Autumnal Mole Stout, the first stout in their 4 Seasonal Stouts coming out! The Autumnal Mole Stout is an ale brewed with peppers, cocoa and spices. Ska will have complimentary Birria, a spicy Mexican meat stew, prepared by the Missing Link to pair with your Mole Stout! While it lasts. Live music from D-Bes, a one-man Ska/Reggae Band.

Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - Go check out their new updated web site at: Lots of good info on their current beers and latest news. Speaking of which, head in today for a 20oz premium bitters for only $3 until it runs dry. Located at: 118 West 4th Street in Loveland, CO.

Prost Brewing (Denver) - Willkommen to 3 days of Oktoberfest celebration at Prost Brewing Company with live music on Friday with The Rhinelanders and their Alpenhorn; their staff will be dressed in German attire. There'll be Baker Street pretzels, food by Uber Sausage, Follow That Cart and Dipstix, and best of all Prost will be tapping their Marzen beer on Friday, 9/28. They have plenty of Maß to fill up with your favorite beer. So break out your lederhosen and dirndls and join in! Friday 9/28 & Sat 9/29 from noon to midnight and Sunday 9/30 from noon to 8-ish.

Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery (Boulder) - Did you know? Mountain Sun now has completed work on their new outdoor patio! There is now room for several more people to sit and enjoy some tasty food and brew out front. Enjoy the sun (while it lasts) and sip on a brew. Bring your sunglasses! Oktoberfest in Colorado (Annual List) - The harvests are coming in, the weather is starting to cool, and towns and communities in Colorado are celebrating Oktoberfest! The 2012 Colorado Oktoberfest page has compiled a list of over 30+ communities in the Centennial state that have Oktoberfest or harvest festivals planned. Festivals run from late August through early October.
