High Hops Brewery (Windsor) - The brewery is getting to be so popular that they are extending their Hop Hut hours. Their new hours are as follows: Monday (closed), Tuesday through Thursday 2pm to 8pm, Friday and Saturday 12pm to 9pm, and Sunday 12pm to 7pm. Stop in to try their brews. Their Fresh Hop Ale is quickly disappearing. This once a year red ale was crafted using fresh hops from their field just hours after they picked them. Also, with any beer you can opt to have a Hop Shot, a device that infuses even more hop goodness into your brew. Ask about it at the Hop Hut tasting room. Located at: 6461 Hwy 392 in Windsor, CO.

Dad & Dude's Breweria (Aurora) - Now that their Dank IPA is in local stores in 12oz cans, look for them the next time you shop for beer. Meanwhile at their brewpub, stop in for Take Your Glass Tuesdays. They feature other breweries and you get to take home a pint glass for your own. Upslope Brewing will be featured tonight. Stop back on Thursday nights for Trivia Night. And finally, something NEW. Poker Night Wednesdays! Show off your poker skills for a chance to win some gift certificates. If you happen to knock out one of them in a game they will give you a special prize. Sign up is 7pm and games start at 8pm every Wednesday. Located at: 6730 S. Cornerstar Way in Aurora, CO.

Boulder Beer Company (Boulder) - September 25th, 1979. Yup, it was exactly 33 years ago today that Boulder Beer Company officially became a business. Everyone please wish them a very Happy Birthday today. That's pert near 1/3rd of a century of bringing craft beer to the people of Colorado. Join in their celebration at the 33rd Anniversary Beer Rave on Saturday, September 29th from 2pm to 6pm at the brewery. There will be lots of other breweries joining in and bringing some hard to get taproom-only brews to share. Tix are $30. See their website for details.

Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (Denver) - Call it the bane of paperwork, The Denver Post is reporting that the Crooked Stave Barrel Room has to shutdown draft sales temporarily due to a miscommunication between them and the Department of Revenue Liquor Enforcement Division. Crooked Stave has a wholesaler's license, but they don't have a manufacturer's license yet. So, in the meantime, they can still sell bottles for off-site consumption, but they can't serve beer to be consumed on site until all the proper licenses are obtained. That process could take weeks if not a couple of months. Hopefully, things can get straightened out sooner than later and they can resume draft sales at their Barrel Room. Read the full Denver Post story.

Kokopelli Beer Company (Westminster) - Sometimes unexpected incidents are a good thing. Instead of having a 7 barrel brewhouse, Kokopelli Beer Company will have a 10 barrel system thanks to finding one in storage in a small Pennsylvania town. They are now awaiting arrival of this new brewhouse in the coming weeks. Previously, some of their original equipment was damaged in transit and forced them to look for replacements. Look for more updates in the coming weeks on their progress.

Wild Woods Brewery (Boulder) - Today is the day! They open for business for the first time at 4:00pm today. Owners Jake and Erin Evans want to welcome you to their taproom today at 5460 Conestoga Court in Boulder. It's near the intersection of 55th Street and Arapahoe. Wild Woods may be small (only a 2 barrel brewhouse), but they plan to serve up 6 year-round beers and some seasonal beers as well. Today's tastes to include: Treeline IPA, Campfire Red Ale, Wildflower Pale Ale, Ponderosa Porter, Smores Stout and a Beery Wheat Patch.

Say Cheese! (#GABF) - In the latest news from the upcoming Great American Beer Festival - "While almost everyone comes to the festival for the beer, the American Cheese Society’s (ACS) booth is a must-try for anyone craving a quick snack. With a selection that would knock the socks off even Wallace and Gromit, the ACS is sure to have something you’ll enjoy, whether it’s a creamy chevre or a sharp cheddar. If you’ve made it to one of the last two GABFs, you’ve seen how popular their booth can be. So how much cheese is really needed to feed hordes of hungry beer lovers? The ACS serves 500 pounds of cheese at the festival." - source GABF official site.
