Mayor Michael B. Hancock Tapped as Brewmaster for Specialty Denver Brew, Launching Denver Beer Fest 2012
Brewing Begins at Denver Beer Co. on September 19 at 2:30pm
WHAT: On September 19, Denver is going to have the opportunity to watch its newest brewmaster, Mayor Michael “Biermeister” Hancock, get down and dirty with hops, malted barley and yeast to produce a special brew for Denver Beer Fest 2012. The beer will be served while supplies last throughout Denver Beer Fest (Oct. 5-13) at the Denver Beer Company.
Keepin’ it homegrown, just like our Mayor Hancock, the beer will be flavored with pumpkins provided by Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) and brewed at Denver Beer Co., in cooperation with the Colorado Brewers Guild and VISIT DENVER, The Convention & Visitors Bureau. The pumpkin ale will be tapped and ready for tasting on Oct. 5 for the launch of Denver Beer Fest 2012.
The Denver community can help name the beer through Facebook.com/VISITDENVER beginning September 19 at 3pm (MDT). The Mayor will announce the official name for the final brew when he kicks off the first day of Denver Beer Fest with Denver Beer Co. brewers, the Colorado Brewers Guild and VISIT DENVER.
