Colorado Beer NewsToday is Kanelbullens Dag - aka Cinnamon Roll Day. Cinnamon rolls (or buns) are a Swedish tradition and is typically celebrated around the autumn harvest. We here in Colorado enjoy them year round, especially up at Johnson's Corner near Johnstown, CO along I-25. Try pairing one with a pumpkin beer or perhaps a sweet stout. Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - It's an anniversary party, it's a Halloween party all wrapped up into one! On Saturday, October 27th from 8pm to 11pm, dress up in your best costume and head to Arvada Beer Company for their Anniversary/Halloween party. There will be a rare beer release, the Colorado Craft Beer Show (12pm-2pm). Kids costume contest is at 8pm and Adults costume contest at 9pm. Win beer for a year and other great prizes. 27 chances to win free stuff. And in other news, Arvada Beer Company was named by the City of Arvada as Outstanding Business of the Year! Grats to Cary and Kelly Floyd and their staff.

Great American Beer Festival (Denver) - One week from today, the masses descend upon the Colorado Convention Center for the 31st annual event. In normal circumstances we normally post a guide on how to prepare for the GABF, but this year we instead posted 15 Simple Steps to Becoming a Douchebag at the GABF - Wanna know how to be one? Then follow these rules.

New Belgium (Ft. Collins) - BeerStreetJournal is reporting today that New Belgium may be mixing things up once again for seasonal beers in 2013. Remember how they dropped 2 Below for Snow Day, and how they stopped making Skinny Dip for Somersault? Well, expect more changes next year. Their new pilot system has been too much for for them and they plan to introduce 2 new seasonals in 2013. You've been warned! Stock up on your old favorite seasonals (if you can) before they disappear again.

USA Today (Newspaper) - Yesterday, the USA Today put out a list of the 10 best beer cities in the world, and guess what? Denver was one of those 10 and was 2nd on the list! Actually, they named the Denver Beer Triangle - Denver to Fort Collins to Boulder area - as the major draw area for tourists and named a few spots in town to check out. Other US cities included: Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Boston, Massachusetts - and Portland, Oregon.

CAUTION: Brewing Co (Denver) - Homebrewers - still looking for GABF tickets? Caution: Brewing is giving away another pair of tickets to the Saturday afternoon GABF session for the best homebrew submitted to CAUTION: Brewing. All BJCP styles are welcome, except mead or ciders. Entries are accepted in their taproom during business hours on October 5th and October 7th until 8pm on the 7th. Winner announced Monday night, October 8th. See their News page for details. Also, they are planning to be closed, Saturday, October 6th due to having the parking lot repaved (weather permitting). If the weather is bad (raining or snow) then they may be open after all. Just a heads up. Listen for owner Danny Wang to be on the Colorado Craft Beer Radio show from Strange Brewing this Saturday from 12pm to 2pm on AM 760 Denver.

Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - Come to their tasting room for a special that's going on for the next two weeks. Get a growler fill of their Stranger Pale Ale for just $5.50 (does not include a glass growler - extra if you don't have one). That's over 5 beers for just over 5 bucks! Located at: 1265 Boston Avenue in Longmont, CO.

Crystal Springs Brewing (Boulder) - It's bottle release time! Their long awaited dark rum barrel aged robust porter - DRUM - will be released at fine liquor stores and restaurants all over Boulder and select locations in Colorado Springs, Lafayette and Estes Park on October 8th. Fans loved it at the Beer Rave recently and now it will be available in limited quantities in bottles. Hints of vanilla and chocolate and weighs in at 9.2% ABV. Look also for their Black Saddle Port Barrel Aged Imperial Stout on shelves while it lasts.

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - You already may have heard that their monthly Artisan Ale for October is a fresh hopped IPA called Lupuliopheliac and will be released on October 6th, but did you also know that their annual seasonal Mr. Brown Pumpkin Ale is now on tap at their taproom? Grab a pint of this spiced pumpkin brown ale and they'll even put some whipped cream topping on top. Just like pie.

Ska Brewing Co (Durango) - Durango's notorious brewery will be participating in well over a dozen beer tastings and events in Denver during GABF week. Check out their GABF Schedule and see which one you'll be headed to.

Renegade Brewing Company (Denver) - Starting Monday, October 8th there will be a special small-batch release every day for you to try. Monday: Midnight in Bruges (Belgian Black IPA), Tuesday: Secret Agent (Alt bier), Wednesday: Farmer's Daughter (Farmhouse Ale), Thursday: Black Gold (Peanut Butter Cup Stout), Friday: Apostate (Low-gravity IPA), Saturday: Javert (brandy barrel-aged Belgian Strong Ale). What'll be your favorite?

Oktoberfest in Colorado (Annual List) - The harvests are coming in, the weather is starting to cool, and towns and communities in Colorado are celebrating Oktoberfest! The 2012 Colorado Oktoberfest page has compiled a list of over 30+ communities in the Centennial state that have Oktoberfest or Harvest festivals planned. Festivals run through early October.
