Pick a point of view and remember. Here's what's happening in the beer world around Colorado today Monday, October 8th, 2012.

Fieldhouse Brewing Company (Colorado Springs) - Opening day is still a ways off, but that doesn't mean they aren't busy perfecting their recipes. This next few weeks they'll be brewing up several test batches including: Doug's Pumpkin Ale, T2 Pumpkin Porter, Double Fist Pump Stout (imperial milk stout) and the Fieldhouse IPA. Sound good? Well you'll have to wait for Spring 2013 to see what they'll have on tap first. No permanent location has been selected yet, but stay tuned for breaking news.

The Fort Collins Brewery (Ft. Collins) - Their Double Chocolate Stout is now back for another 6 month run. This year, in addition to being available on draft, Double Chocolate Stout will be available in 12oz 4-packs at your local liquor stores. Taste the difference a "double" makes.

Lowry Beer Garden (Denver) - Hops Nouveau continues until October 14th! Now through October 14, several Denver-area restaurants (Lowry Beer Garden, Billy's Inn, Ernie's Bar & Pizza, and LoHi SteakBar) are coming together to celebrate fall hops harvest with a month-long Hops Nouveau event. Each restaurant will host 2-4 small batch beers brewed with hops from the August harvest. Try all of the Hops Nouveau beers and keep an eye on their Facebook page for trivia and your chance to win 2 tickets to the Great American Beer Festival!

Breckenridge Brewery (Denver) - For those heading into Denver for the GABF - Breckenridge Brewery has 3 locations in Denver each under 2 miles from the Convention Center. Production brewery is at 471 Kalamath Street. They have 7 special beers on tap this week along with their regular brands. Public tours available 11am - 4pm Wed-Fri. Saturday tours are 2pm - 5pm. Ale House at Amato's at 2501 16th Street has 42 taps, 37 of which are dedicated to Colorado craft beers. They will host mini-tap takeovers this week Wednesday through Saturday from 9pm to midnight. Great Divide on Wed, Avery Brewing on Thurs, Left Hand on Friday, and Breckenridge Brewery on Saturday. Also stop by their Breckenridge Colorado Craft (formerly the Breckenridge Brewery Ballpark Pub) at 2220 Blake Street. Newly remodeled and a gathering place for Colorado craft beer.

Crazy Mountain Brewing Company (Edwards) - Despite it being Columbus Day, Crazy Mountain is also celebrating National Zombie Day today as well. For $12 at their brewery you'll get two pints of ale and a limited edition Zombie Day t-shirt (while supplies last). If you show up there dressed as an undead today, you'll get your first beer free!

Backcountry Brewery (Dillon) - If you don't feel like driving up to Dillon today but still want to try some Backcountry beers, head to Falling Rock Tap House today at 5pm and you'll get a chance to try Backcountry's Imperial Saison and their Tart SaiZin - all part of the GABF kick-off party. Monday just got a lot better!

Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (Denver) - Crooked Stave is excited to be open for expanded hours this week, Monday through Saturday, from 10am - approx 9pm or whenever no one is left or the beers are all gone! They'll be tapping a new sour everyday this week at 12 noon. Today's sour beer is Batch #1, the first beer they ever brewed as Crooked Stave!! They can't wait to see all of you! Their tasting room is located at: 1441 W. 46th Ave Unit 19 in Denver, CO.

The GABF is just 3 days away! Let the pre-parties begin!

Pint 4 Pint Blood DriveBootlegger's Society (Durango) - All 4 Durango breweries are teaming up to sponsor the 10th annual Pint 4 Pint Blood Drive on Friday, October 26th. Roll up your sleeve and let the little vampires draw a pint from you and then you'll be given a pint of beer for your efforts! Pre-register at any of the 4 Durango breweries. Coopersmith's Pub & Brewing (Ft. Collins) - Jason and Todd Alstrom, Founders and Editors of of BeerAdvocate magazine + forums are going to be at Coopersmith's Pubside tonight at 9:00pm. Come by and say hi to two of the biggest supports of craft beer out there. Don't forget to try some of the many handcrafted beers on tap as well.

Black Shirt Brewing (Denver) - Their official Grand Opening is set for this Saturday, October 13th! Think Red Ale and think funky Offero glassware! More details on their opening soon. Located at: 3719 Walnut Street in Denver, CO.

Hops & Pie (Denver) - Tomorrow, October 9th is Cigar City Brewing day at Hops & Pie. There will be several draft selections from this Florida brewery on tap including Jai Alai India Pale Ale, Maduro Brown Ale, Cubano Espresso Brown Ale, Raspberry Saison, and Peach India Pale Ale. Located at 3920 Tennyson Street in Denver, CO.
